It appears to be very rust resistant BUT beware this is a real cheap can opener and it broke for me after I open 2 cans with it. The wheels didn't mesh any more. I spent $16 at the grocery store and got one that was going to last. You almost have to turn them in your hand before you can see if the handle - wheel - mesh mechanisms going to be something that will last. My last can opener lasted 40 years and is still working pretty well. I thought I could get one that is smoother, and I did at the grocery. I'd advise not buying this one. Best of luck.

Q: There is no name on it to show it's from gorilla grip. stamped "made in china" only. problem later how to do you identify the manufacturer?

For the amount I was only concerned that it works. I have used several times with no issues. However, I am willing to pay more for product made in USA.

Works well, just the top of can comes off.

Q: Is this for left handlers?

I just have to say that with any of my can openers, I've been able to use my left or right hand interchangeably. I don't see why you couldn't with this one as well, or with any can opener. Just the position of whether maybe it's on the side or on the front or where you hold it might be different.

The BEST manual can opener on the market (IMHO)

This is absolutely the BEST quality, smoothest, most durable manual can opener I have ever used (and i have used MANY!) I have been on a quest for a simple manual can opener that works well. I have Rheumatoid arthritis so hand strength is a problem for me. My mother in law, who lives with us, is 85 with reduced hand strength as well. We can both use this can opener easily. Follow the care instructions and hand wash!! This is the second one i have purchased because the last one was put in the dishwasher daily for over a month against care instructions. These last for YEARS and work perfectly for us!! I have recommended to my entire family. Excellent quality and works so much better than any other manual can opener on the market. Wonderful for arthritic hands!

I love this can opener. I have a lot of arthritis in my hands and for a few years, I've had to rely on battery operated can openers. One day when the batteries were dead and I was forced to use an old hand held can opener, it was almost impossible and very painful as well. That's when I decided to look for one that had good reviews for arthritis sufferers. I'm so glad I found this one! It's amazingly easy to use. It grasps the can easily, glides smoothly around the can, and best of all, the oversized knob is very easy to turn! I love the color too. I got the mint one and it's very pretty.
