Crafts and Comfort Lazio File Cabinet

Nice quality product. Went together very easily and seems more solid than other office furniture products that I have purchased in the past.

Clear directions; easy to assemble. The wood grain front is attractive with traditional & modern decor. I purchased this with a focus on design, size, locking mechanism, and value for money spent. The cabinet is in a study area adjacent to our kitchen. We use the top drawers to secure medications. The bottom is for light files. The cabinet is easily moved with its wheels. Overall we’re happy with this product. It was shipped and delivered very quickly which was also a requirement for us.

In my life I have purchased and assembled quite a few pieces of furniture like this file cabinet. The majority of them have been a disappointment to a degree or two. Crushed or ripped shipping boxes, poorly packed contents that in many cases caused damage to the contents, broken boards, misplaced pilot holes, missing hardware, poor quality hardware, missing instruction sheets and so on. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the box containing this file cabinet was delivered in good condition. All sides of the box sealed with no signs of the box being dropped or mishandled. The contents were packed nicely but not overly protected. I suppose that if the box was dropped some damage would have incurred. The included instruction sheet listed all the parts and their identifying numbers. The hardware was packed in separate plastic bags with each bag bearing a label with the part number. The assembly steps are mainly graphical and easy to understand. However, at the end where the graphics shows the installation of the lock it did not mention a ring or escutcheon which covers the gap between the lock body and the wood panel. More on this later. The parts did not show any signs of cosmetic damage. The complete installation took about 1 hour. It was a leisurely installation. Given the quantity of screws that are used in the assembly I strongly recommend an electric screwdriver or a drill with a Philips #2 bit. Just be careful to adjust the torque so you do not strip the holes. During the assembly I did encounter two issues: 1. When installing one of the casters I came across a hole that was plugged with the round piece of metal that should have been punched out. Luckily The round piece was just jammed in the hole, and I was able to push it out. 2. The ring or escutcheon that covers the gap between the lock body and the wood panel on the outside was missing. I fired an email to [email protected] and within an hour I received a reply asking for my address so they could ship a replacement ring. Very prompt service. The file cabinet is sturdy. It does show a little wobble if you grab and try to move it but that is because it is on casters. The front casters do lock in place, but they still can slide on carpet. Maybe once it is loaded it will become more stable. The single key lock uses a bar along the inner front right edge to lock all 3 drawers. All hanging file cabinets that I used so far were hanging the folders on the left and right ends with the folder labels right in front of you. This cabinet hangs the folders from the front and rear panels of the drawer. Reading the folder labels is more difficult or at least it seems so. Probably this is somethings one gets used to. In my application though I do not plan storing folders in this cabinet, so it is a moot issue. The height of the cabinet, including the casters, is 25 inches. I would have like it to be a little higher, maybe 27 or 28 inches.

To address some other reviews I got lucky here and didn't have any missing parts or drill holes. My installation went perfectly! The only hiccup was getting the vernier in the back to fit into the assembled drawers slots. Alignment is tricky and it needs to slot in all the way down. Aside from that this is a great very sturdy unit when assembled and I'm happy with the product. As spoken of before having a power drill will provide a big benefit. Be handy and bring your tools and you'll enjoy this filing cabinet's quality. Assembly took about 1 hour. My only gripe was that the revised version I have includes 4 casters not 6 as in the product photo. This isn't an issue but rather an improvement as it makes rolling it around on wood floors much easier. Also the casters include locks that are very effective in keeping it in place. I enjoy this and the set up time was worth it for a very decent quality product.

I’ve constructed many items from IKEA, Amazon, Wayfair, etc. over the years. This was by far the worst taking me nearly 3 hours to assemble. The finished product looks nice but I’d choose another option if I had to do it over again. Additionally, the file draw doesn’t have any grooves for hanging files!? Kind of defeats the purpose of a file cabinet

Much lower cost than the comps, much nicer looking, and well constructed with exceptionally clear instructions. Having built my fair share of ship flat furniture sometimes you can take forever to make sense of the instructions, building and unbuilding when you realize a part is upside down for what would otherwise be an easy build. Everything clearly labeled and assembly instructions were thoughtful. I work in assembly so I can tell care went into it and professional to professional thank you for taking the time. Also noted all holes and slots lined up well so quality work all around from design to execution. Just built it but no doubt it will hold up well. Highly recommended the product and based on this the company.

I am so happy with this item! More than expected! This arrived a few short days after ordering ( i think 3 or 4). The quality of the wood is AMAZING for the price and exceeded all of my expectations. All of the tools and instructions were in the box and it was very simple to assemble as it only took me 30 minutes with a simple screw driver. The unit's lock is amazing and my favorite of it all. I think the seller has great customer service and the process from opening the box to assembly was a great experience! i will order many furniture pieces from hereon! OVERALL - 10/10 ! Beautiful, classy and high quality piece for a very affordable item.

Feels a bit more luxe than the usual amazon furniture purchase at this price point. Didn't have to assemble the actual drawer rails as they were pre-affixed to the drawers and cabinet sides. The only quibble was that the support ring around the edge of the lock needed to be glued in place but that's a minor detail. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase.

The cabinet is not what described. It is not a filing cabinet because the drawers are too small for filing
