This supplement was bought for a Parkinson's patient also diagnosed with dementia to see if it might help. He stopped taking the medications prescribed for Parkinsons some time ago because they didn't help with his symptoms and caused extreme sleepiness and brain fog. His symptoms (shaking, slowness of movements, freezing, delusions and increasing dependency) have been worsening and have reached a point where even a supplement-averse person (which he is) will consider taking Lions Mane. Two days in, so the patient has had two full doses (ie two capsules taken with a meal in the evening). It is very early days, but on day one he said he felt 'just a little bit better' and the same this morning. He is now able to dress himself again, could get to his feet more easily from a sitting position and has begun to show an interest in doing some puzzles to exercise his brain. So we will be continuing with the supplement. Will come back in a few weeks for another report on how things have gone. 30th April The patient's days so far, taking this supplement (2 capsules per day, together after a meal) have been variable, sometimes 'sleepy' days with all the old symptoms, but, surprisingly, sometimes some very good days when it seemed as though some aspects of the disease had been pushed aside. On the very good days he seemed much more alert and quicker in his movements. The patient himself noticed that his voice sounded 'normal' (he has been speaking with a low, mumbly voice for two years +). The shakes are still there. So are the delusions, except that on one good day the patient started talking about them as though they were 'objects', like dreams, rather than being taken over by them. No new or negative symptoms. Overall, quite encouraging. Today we are upping the dose from 2 capsules to 3. Will report in a few weeks on how this went. 29 May The patient has gone down with an infection and the mushroom extract has been stopped until he is better. It took us a while to realise that a worsening of physical symptoms and dementia were not due to a deterioration in his Parkinsons condition or to the mushrooms but to additional illness. The intention is to re-start the supplement at the recommended dose of two per days once the patient recovers.

this had me in hospital ! extreme stomach pain , extreme diarrhoea for over a week. I thought i had a bug but it was these supplements - i read all the great reviews and thought it must work. Please please be warned i have only experienced abdominal pain like this once when i was in Labour with my son it caused severe problems. Read the 1 star reviews first i wouldnt want this happening to anyone else!

I wasn't impressed that I had bought a 2mth supply, 14th April, 120 tabs and found that the best before date was June, meaning 2 weeks would be out of date. If I had seen them in a shop I would not have bought them and don't think they would be on the shelf.

First of all, this product is going to effect everyone slightly differently. After 7 months of daily use, I am now stopping completely. I did enjoy the periods of mental clarity in my initial use and I've thoroughly enjoyed the incredibly vivid and complex dreams I've had nearly daily as a result of my use (which I journaled). However this product is NOT organic. It wasn't until I stopped taking these that I realised they were causing serious digestive issues such as stomach cramps, nausea, irregular bowel movements, acid reflux and even blood in stools. I think I'd even stopped benefitting from the mental focus because my dreams had become more and more frequent (multiple dreams a night), I'd feel extremely fatigued in the day and sometimes struggle for breath and I'd need at least 10 hours sleep a night to function.
