Xvive U4R2 Wireless in-Ear Monitor System with 2 Receivers

I'm in a band in the Detroit, MI market that gigs consistently; primarily I am lead and rhythm guitarist but will contribute lead vocals on two or three songs in a night. Our gigs are pretty hard-driving and probably like most rock-based bands, we get progressively louder throughout the course of the evening – and we often don't realize it. Actually I should say that I do when I handle vocals later in the evening. Even with external monitors, I find it hard to hear myself and the end result is me shouting to get heard and injuring my vocal cords. For this reason, my girlfriend has strongly suggested I look into in-ear monitors. I've been using the Xvive U2 wireless guitar system for about three years and have been a really big fan of it's simplicity and overall reliability. When I found they had an IEM, that got my attention right away. I finally got the chance to use this the other night during a live gig. Setup couldn't have been easier – I simply put the transmitter into the auxiliary output of the PA, connected my in-ear monitor earphones to the receiver, turned both on... and the sound was right there. And it is great sound quality. As I had hoped for, I know longer had to overcompensate to hear myself sing. I could also hear our front man clear as a bell which enabled me to follow his cues. Also, this is a very compact and lightweight system which allowed me full mobility on stage and I didn't have to work around it. All in all, this is a great solution that is cost effective, easy to use, and performs solidly. If you are a performing musician, I highly recommend these as they will not break the bank and will help preserve your hearing and voice.

I am a singer with my Church Worship Team and I was having difficulty with the wedge monitors being too loud and over powering vocals to the point I couldn’t hear my self at all. The transmitter plugs into the 16 channel personal mixers we use can run the instruments down and the voices up. The transmitter can feed signal off one mixer and multiple people can use receivers purchased separately and listen to that one transmitter. It has ran flawlessly for several months now and stays plugged in during the week and can be in use at least for 4 hours nonstop. It might go more but that’s the longest I have used it. Plus it has excellent range. Our mixers are on stage with us but they could be at the sound board at the back of the church, a 100 feet away, plugged in there and it would be just fine. I know because I have walked back there while using it and it was as clear as if I was standing next to it on the platform. Good solid construction feels durable and really is, I’m clumsy and have dropped it dozens of times with no adverse effects. They do not have replaceable batteries so it’s important to make sure to plug them in when done or you will have to do without when they go dead in the middle of a service if you forget to recharge them. I can’t speak about what they’d be like if you had to carry them from one venue to another or how they would perform being tossed into/rattling around a gig bag. They are not easy to inadvertently turn off handling them so they may not easily be turned on accidentally. They use slide type switches with detentions to keep them off or on. I got to give the 5 stars for my type of use but a professional musician may have a different take especially considering they may have to be in a different venue every time they use them.

This combo works fantastically! I had a big case I used to carry my in-ears bulky transmitter and this makes it so much simpler! It works great, no static, easy to use, and so far I have had 0 issues with it. Of course you need to remember to charge it, but I got a little power bank that I put in the bag with them so as soon as I'm done with them, I connect them to the power bank and they are ready for the next time. Only problem I found is that you can't have two next to each other on the board as they don't fit well, so you need to plug them with space in between so they can fit properly and you don't mess up your line/channel. Also, if there is more than one, it may help to have each unit's channels in a different number. So if my bass player is on 2, I'll go to 3. On the one you plug on the board, the on/off switch is next to another switch that looks totally the same, and I never remember which button it is, so it would be nice if in future versions they changed the location of the on/off switch or made it more noticeable. Love the system though! It's really simplified things for me on stage for a great price.

Very well built. Has good range for my needs, over approximately 50 to 80 feet. Had one occurance of drop out due to a wall and wifi interference. Also an issue of signal cancelation due to unit being balanced. Mics had to be faded slightly left or right. Dead center because of reverse polarities caused output to be very low. Once I realized what was happening, and made the adjustments, the units worked great. Thought it was a mixer issue at venue, so I gave up on the in ears and went back to normal operation. However when I got home, I plugged into my mixer stereo headphone out, then master mix out, then control room out and I had the same issue. Faded left and volume of receiver immediately shot up. Internally, it's wired as a balanced xlr with ground, hot, and neutral(trs). The adapter provided is mono(ts), so just by looking at the connector I was assuming the output would be a centered mono signal. This was not the case. Again, centered, the volume out was probably like 12 dB lower than when fading left or right. Also the pad slider is easily moved, so be sure to check settings prior to use. These are very good for the price. Not a professional so I could not justify spending 600 plus dollars on 2 high end units that would not be used that often. Would recommend to anyone looking to get their feet wet with in ear-monitoring. Oh yeah, battery life is good. Running about 2, 2.5hour sessions, plus practice of about 1 to 2 hours before having to charge. And there is, to me, no perceived latency, however, if you can't sing, you will find out quickly how bad, or good you really are. Lol.

I ordered the Xvive u4 wireless combo to escape the wired connection I had been using. On more than one occasion, I would start walking away from my acoustic setup and knock something over because I was still plugged in to my wired headphone amp. The Xvive u4 is easy to setup and use and it is solidly built. There are 6 channels and you just match the receiver and transmitter to the same channel. I'm in a 3-piece band and we all use the Xvive, so we pick different channels. It is much more cost effective than other solutions. The sound quality is good, although I knocked off one star because I do occasionally get a drop out, but those are rare.

Great on stage product. My while band uses the xvive system and it is easy to use, lightweight, sounds great and is easy to switch channels on if needed. We had a band down the street performing on our channel, so we just ran it on a different channel and life was good.

Used this on a stadium gig and never went out of range despite being considerably far from the FOH. I regularly use it for smaller gigs and it is reí able and sound quality is great. Great find for the price I did recommend to the rest of my band and we now all own a set.
