Light weight with athletic material, the padding helps give some extra protection, especially for the heart, but even the lower back which comes handy for one of my boys who usually gets hit by the ball a lot. It helps my boys be a little less scared of the ball hitting them and helps them with sliding and not hurting their chest. Worth the money! The original ones we go the side padding pieces came apart and were clumped together so they sent us replacement ones. So far they are good, I’d recommend staying away from the dryer and just hang drying to be safe. Other than than we love them!

I purchased this for my son to use during baseball to help protect him if he got hit in the chest when pitching, and from getting hit in the ribs when batting. More sports studies say that a hard hit ball to the chest can cause serious injury, so we got this to help help reduce those chances. Plus, I remember getting hit by pitches in the ribs a few times as a kid and would have gladly worn this if it was available back then. He likes the feel of it. No downsides found after a few weeks of using.

We purchased these for our 10 year old grandson who played Comp Baseball. He wore it and felt much more secure. The main reason we purchased it was for protection after getting hit hard in the elbow by a pitched ball, which cut his season short.

I chose this one so it won't add too much heat during summer soccer training. Started wearing it for fall soccer & he says it's extremely comfortable. I never have to remind him to put it on, he's happy to wear it so it's never an argument. Says it provides just enough extra padding in important spots when he lands after diving for balls.

Bought this for my son along with an extra girdle since we hate having to do a wash after single practice cause he sweats through them. This fits perfect and I prefer the Black over the White. Looks better.

My son played eight games of baseball using this padded shirt before it started falling apart inside. One side of the padding has all totally come separated and bundled up inside the sewn section. It’s extremely uncomfortable and makes it hard for him to pitch. We try to push all of the little pieces back in place but they just bundle right back up. Very disappointed.Update - the company sent me a new shirt. So far it is holding up. Hopefully it will last a full season of baseball.
