Q: Are they dishwasher safe?

id say hand wash only as the rubber coating may wear away over time in a dishwasher. And it a great coating and you’ll want to keep it. As I only use it for water is dry it out over night and use denture cleaner on the inside once a month as I do on all my steel bottles :.: keeps em gleaming.

Q: Can you place this in the freezer with water in (obviously upright with no lid and not completely full)?

Don’t see why not I’d do a couple of test runs with small amounts of water first…?

Never put it in the freezer but it always the fridge. I can't see a problem if you remove the lid when you defrost it. Removing the lid that may be the only problem. There are no leaks from this beast. I brought it because my plastic 2 ltr fell off the exercise bike in the spin class and exploded.
