Adorable Panda Training Chopsticks
These Chopstics are adorable. I bought them for my Nephew who wanted to learn how to use Chopsticks. They come from China, so it'll be a few weeks before you get them (if you live in the US), but don't let that deter you from purchasing them (all things from China/Asia are cool!). It came much earlier than estimated, so that was cool. The little Panda is like a hard rubber Topper that holds the Chopsticks together in tiny/child hands. Keep in mind, that these Training Chopsticks can be used by anyone. They're not just for children. I even used them, and they are cute, fun, and of course, adorable! The Chopsticks, if needed, can come out of the Panda for thorough washing if needed, or you can wash it as one. The Panda can be washed also. Hand Wash only, as a dishwasher might melt these. My nephew liked them so much, I had ordered a second pair from the same company, with the same fast delivery and the careful packaging of the Chopsticks. When my other Nephew is old enough to want to learn how to use Chopsticks, I will surely order from this Seller again.

Such a great find!
We just ordered these for our 23-month old (who, admittedly, is partial to pandas). We gave them to her at dinner tonight and she was so excited! The panda is, as advertised, very cute and my daughter kept hugging it. The design is really smart -- the silicone body of the panda means that your child can't really hurt these. They can be pushed together completely or pulled apart as far as you can, and it won't break. Also, the chopsticks come out of the holder for separate washing.Altogether, I am thrilled with this product. I know it's just chopsticks, but they were really well thought out, and well designed and my daughter loves them!As a couple asides, she isn't even two and she was able to pick up some noodles with them her first night, so they work pretty well. Also, we bought these from a third party vendor (didn't ship from Amazon) and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they arrived.I would recommend these without reservation to anyone who has a child who wants to use chopsticks and likes pandas!

Disappointed -- doesn't permit proper action...
I purchased one set of these, as well as a set from Pororo Edison, for our 3 and 5 year old boys, who have been showing interest in using chopsticks.Understandably, it's not a skill to be picked up overnight, so I'm not expecting any miracles -- but after constant dinnertime use by both boys for about a week, I'm not liking what I'm seeing. To a point, they're both highly enthusiastic and request these nightly. But the "hinge" action of the rubber panda encourages these to be used miniature salad tongs -- kind of a high up, pincher-like outside hand grip. We've tried nightly to work on proper grip, but we've reached the conclusion that there's no way to swing the top stick properly, since the rear end is "anchored" to the lower stick.Instead, we remove the panda, which solves the problem by converting these to two short, child-sized chopsticks, but then our son gets frustrated and wants his panda back (which, as far as he's concerned, is working fine for him). We're just rolling with it -- as long as they show an interest, we'll let them use them. Frankly, they don't make any bigger a mess with chopsticks they they do with a fork or spoon. I suppose their interest will eventually work out in their favor, but I just don't see any way the poor finger positioning and pincher-like control is in any way helping them towards that endeavor.[By the way -- micro-review for the Petty Edison is roughly the same, except that set incorporates three finger loops that "force" something resembling proper hand positioning. They also have miniature plier-like flats on the ends that help the 3 year old pick up his food.)

Training Chopsticks Are A Big Hit At Dinner Time!
My husband and I love making Chinese food. My children on the other hand would rather have hamburgers or chicken tenders. One night we ordered some Chinese food and they put chopsticks in our bag. As we all sat down at the table, the kids were interested in this new "toy." I tried my best at making my own homemade chopsticks, but that didn't work out so well. I'm glad I found these "training" chopsticks. They are so cute with a little panda on them. The sticks themselves are smooth and comfortable. The kids are practicing, and they are slowly getting better at using them on a variety of different foods. The one thing that surprised me most, is that now, my kids are branching out and they have actually been enjoying and eating all different kinds of Chinese foods! I am satisfied with these chopsticks and they have been a really big hit at dinner time.

Wife's idea to keep food from flying!
My wife likes using chopsticks and these help you "control" your handling of the sticks. I am usually somewhat good but our sons, not so much. I think the boys liked them because they have a "toy" at the top - the Panda. As long as I don't have to dodge shrimp or other food flying about. They also make a nice little addition with guest visiting.

Junk!
The product I received was essentially worthless. The rubber panda at the top provided little support/resistance for the chopsticks. That, in addition to being very heavy, made it impossible to use, as the item be was so top-heavy that even I, a grown adult, couldn't hold them upright! The chopsticks are so top-heavy they continually fall over in your hand! These are unusable by adults, and certainly children!

It's Adorable, But Completely Impractical
I really wanted to like this. It's so cute and I appreciate the idea of training chopsticks. My daughter (6 yrs old) was excited about it but just got frustrated whenever she tried to use it. I tried it too and couldn't get the hang of it. The slick chopsticks slip across the sides of each other so you can't grip anything and they sometimes fall out of the panda.
