Perfect for a day hike.
This was purchased for my son-in-law who loves to hike, and often will go for a shorter hike on week nights or weekends. He has other backpacks, but this one is a good, lightweight medium size with a 3 liter water bladder packed right into it for sipping water to remain hydrated while hiking. Because the water bag is a flat shape, and spread across the back in the backpack, the weight is evenly distributed, whether full, or half empty. This makes it easier on the body to carry a load. It is hilly in the lowland of the mountains, and warm, in So. California, so easy to build up a thirst. This way of carrying water means no hassle to stop and grab out a bottle, because the snaps keep the tube up in front, and easy to turn the tube to the mouth, and take a sip as needed. The backpack is loaded with pockets, and places to tuck whatever is needed on the hike. With the various segmented areas, the contents of the backpack remain well distributed as you hike. There are ties on the outside for tying up walking sticks, side pockets to put your phone and keys. It is a very functional backpack, made of rugged material and sturdy straps. The bladder is made of thick PFAS free plastic, and well sealed to avoid leaks. It is easy on/off, easy to use, and when done, easy to fold, snap closed for storage. It won't store for long though. This bag will be grabbed often, whether for a hike, or just for going out. The water bag can be removed when not needed, and an easy install for when you want the bag in for hydration while hiking.

Great!
Perfect! love the design. The backpack was purchased for a trip to Yosemite where we knew we were going to be hiking. Once received, I filled up the water reservoir. It worked perfect and was easy to set up. So many pockets for different items. It held my cell phone perfectly in the side pocket. It held a bottle of Gatorade in a side pocket. It held our lunch with plenty of room left for any other snacks or even a light coat. 3 liter reservoir might’ve been a bit big. I think 2 liter would’ve been fine. The pack was pretty comfortable. Didn’t use the strap across the chest. As a female it would’ve worked - it wasn’t bad, but I felt the pack was more comfortable without. It worked without fail. Looking forward to using it again next year.

Going to buy another one!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with this backpack that I felt it was necessary to share. I’m an avid hiker who has been loyal to CamelBak for years. However, I was tired of spending so much on their products and decided to look for the next best thing at a more reasonable price. After a lot of research on various sites, the NEVO RHINO kept popping up as an excellent value.I just spent 10 days in Glacier National Park and used this backpack for all 9 hikes we did—it absolutely lived up to the hype! The hydration pack was the easiest system I’ve ever used and never leaked once—neither the bladder nor the mouthpiece. As for storage, there was plenty of room for food, extra water bottles, my husband’s and my long sleeves, sunscreen, extra bear spray, bear horns, hand sanitizer, keys, phones, and more. The waist strap was a great bonus for distributing the weight comfortably. My only complaint is that the hydration bladder is difficult to clean by hand—I can’t even fit my hand inside. I’ll need to pick up a long bottle brush for that.Overall, 4.75 stars out of 5—highly recommend!

Great hiking companion
I never write product reviews but I had such a great experience with this hydration pack, I decided to let others know my thoughts. This pack was durable, a great size for carrying a few items of clothes along with binoculars, a small first aid kit, snacks, and other items like my phone. With the water completely filled and all of those items, my pack probably added an extra 10-15 pounds to my hikes. The water stayed cold all day. I usually put 2 liters of cold water and then ice to make the total volume 2.5-3 liters.Hiked for 6 days and about 50 miles. So happy with this product! Would buy it again.

holds a lot of things, but waistband storage is useless
This is a larger hydration pack with plenty of storage — multiple pockets, spots for water bottles on both sides, and even a clip for your keys. It’s great for longer hikes when you need to carry a bit more. The bladder sits in an insulated compartment, which actually helps keep your water from heating up against your back — a nice touch if you’re out in the sun for hours. The waistband supposedly has a pocket for your phone, and yes, it technically fits... as long as you don’t actually buckle the waistband. Once it curves around your body (as waistbands tend to do), there’s no way you’re fitting a normal-sized phone unless it’s made of rubber or shaped like a banana. So yeah — forget about that feature unless you own a phone designed by Salvador Dali.My main issue, same as with other newer hydration packs, is the bladder design. It uses the fold-over-and-clip style, which means you pretty much have to take the whole bladder out to refill it. If you fill up straight from the fridge like I do, it’s awkward — one hand holding the bladder open, the other pressing the water dispenser. I get why they went with this design, but it’s definitely not the most user-friendly option. The pocket that the bladder fits into is larger though so getting it back in isn't the same as struggling to get your tent back into its very undersized bag. That said, the pack itself is comfortable, adjustable, and really well laid out. I just wish the bladder wasn’t such a pain to refill — otherwise, this would be close to perfect.
