I got these hooks to hold up some string lights outside. They were very easy to put up. The little clasp bit is perfect for beeping things in as they can’t fall out. I got 24pcs set that was plenty to put up all of my light with some to spare. The instructions even tell you what size drill bit you need to put the plugs into.They are quite sturdy and would definitely be able to hold heavier items up, they also look ok as they are just black. The price is good for what they are and how many you get along with all the wall plugs.

Used in garden gor hanging lights

This set is excellent. You get hooks, plugs and a specially designed tool to help screw the hooks in place...The tool can be attached to a cordless drill or cordless screwdriver, very clever idea.The hooks themselves are very sturdy with a simple but effective spring close mechanism. Ideal for clipping cables into that you want held in place but then remove the cable easily when no longer needed.Example : For outdoor Christmas lights that need to be secure but can be easily removed later and the hooks can stay in place for next time.Great value for money

I used them to hang bird feeders on the garden fence posts using 26mm wooden dowels glued into holes drilled to 30mm depths into the post using a 25mm flat bit. I used a mallet to knock the dowels once glued into position. It took me 20mins to hang 3 feeders and I know that this was worth the effort because of the hooks. The hooks came with a drill attachment that really worked well once I had predrilled the holes in the dowels with a 2.5mm drill bit.

The hooks are great, but the installation tool supplied doesn't actually fit on the hooks. The slot is too narrow. Fortunately, I have a fully equipped workshop to hand and could grind the slot wider to fit. Wouldn't be possible for a lot of DIY'ers though I wouldn't think.

I wanted these clips to hang a set of string lights on the fiberglass railing on my deck. The recommended 1/8" drill bit was exactly the right size to predrill my holes and the clips actually tightened securely by hand quite easily. However, with approximately 60 of these hooks to install, I drilled all my holes, replaced the drill bit with the included wing nut driver, and it was extremely easy to get the whole thing done in a very short time. The clips anchored into the fiberglass very securely. Just set the drill on a low speed and don't over-tighten. I did the final revolution by hand, just to play it safe.The set does come with plastic wall anchors, which I didn't need, but will allow you to install these clips on walls and other surfaces where a screw can't be installed directly (Sheet Rock, masonry, etc.). They should be sufficient to handle a number of items, but I would not trust them for for heavy items.The finish was smooth and complete - no issues at all with the finish, and the spring design was quite clever and worked flawlessly. These are perfect for what I needed them for.

I have a cedar (soft wood) frame gazebo in my backyard and I used these hooks to put up some patio string lights. Since the wood is so soft, I was able to spin these into the wood by hand. But, with the included drill bit, it was an even easier task. The spring bar holds the cable in place and I don't feel of it getting dislodged on windy days.

I used these hooks to enclose the upper part of our bunk bed/loft with nylon nautical netting… to put my mom anxiety at ease. Success! They anchored perfectly to the wood rail of the bunk bed and to the beam in the ceiling. (We skipped using the included anchors and decided to have these hooks bite right into the wood for added safety. I drilled a tiny pilot hole to get them started, then slid the shaft of a screwdriver through the eye of the hook and turned them in. Easy and quick install.). Would highly recommend!
