The most incredible towels. I waited more than two years for mine-
I am so happy to have some sets of these lovely Turkish/Peshtamel towels. It means a lot to me. My spouse and I needed bath towels for years. The first set of towels that we received as a Christmas gift shortly after we were married we had for around 20 years. We were grateful for them but had not picked them out and they were not something I nor he would have picked out for ourselves. They were not Turkish towels, had a rough feel, and their color faded just a few years after we first got them. They eventually started tearing. A bit after they did, some years back I bought my spouse and I two sets of towels. They still really were not what I was looking for but I was unable to find a style that really wowed me where I was shopping back then. We still have a few towels from one of those sets, a white cotton one that will not wear out. I often use those towels when I give myself a manicure/pedicure. They are great for that. However, they are rough feeling to me, and very thick. Since I know how special textiles are, and have heard it can be a tedious job to make towels, I am not the type to buy a new set of towels every few years because of this. So, I refused to buy another set of towels until I found the kind of towels that really wowed me. The towels I would be most especially pleased with, the type that do not fade nor wear out. This task took a few years. My spouse and I had stopped using paper towels and tissues and had switched to using micro fiber cloths and pocket squares instead. This meant we have a lot more towel type of laundry then we used to. We own an energy efficient washer and dryer but still the more loads we do means more time spent doing laundry. So I was looking for towels to make this easier. We both wash our many microfiber cloths and pocket squares along with our bath towels to save time. Thick bath towels were not ideal for this task as of course they take up more space in the washing machine. Finally, in June of 2016, on Amazon I saw these style Peshtamel towels and thought they might work. I was not completely sure then so I bought one pack of 4 to check before purchasing more. To my great delight the Peshtamel towels are incredibly soft and the tassels are wonderful, yet durable as are the towels. They hold up and do not fade nor wear, and even dry great in my dryer (I do own a dryer with a wrinkle free feature that I use along with wool dryer balls to dry them.) Their thin profile means they fit so much better in my washing machine and dryer along with my microfiber cloths then do thick towels. That they are so thin also means we will not have to wash our towels/microfibers more than once a week. Before, due to the old very thick towels sometimes we had to wash towels/microfibers 3 times in a week. So these towels are so fantastic to us! Their length and width is magnificent. I am svelte and often get cold after my VERY hot showers and like to wrap myself up in my Turkish towels and feel the soft caress of their tassels as I oil myself to keep my skin in perfect condition. Since these towels are so long when moisturizing my feet I can place part of the Peshtamel towel on a chair and place my foot on it while moisturizing the sole of my foot to keep moisturizer from getting on the floor while still keeping myself covered and warm and comfy after my shower. I used to have to use two shorter towels to do this. These towels dry so quickly. It is very impressive. My other towels would stay wet when wrapped around me and were not comfortable. I find they dry almost instantly. I looked forward to getting the number of towels I needed. FINALLY, more than two years since I got my first set my spouse and I purchased the full amount of Peshtamel towels we needed for ourselves. Our other non-Peshtamel towels were so worn some were even in shreds (we will still use these for rags and not throw them out.) We are so relieved to finally have our Turkish towels. They are gorgeous! They look great in my closet where I keep my towels. When I first opened the package they arrived in all the way from Turkey where these towels are made I carefully and thoughtfully smelled each towel before I washed them and on many could smell a faint smell of Turkish food spices. When my spouse came home from work and I told him the towels had arrived even though he was tired, he was so eager to look at them. He loves them also. The next morning when he used one of them he said he also liked the bright color of the towel. In fact he was so inspired that he decided to do his hair when he came home the next day to spend time pampering himself with the new towels and is obviously relieved we no longer are having to use the non Pestamel towels. I recommend these style towels for those who are serious about towels and for those who understand quality and especially the lovely weave used in Peshtamel towels. I am sure I will also use them sometimes as decorative scarves, or even very long belt ties and I can drape them on me to make special outfits sometimes instead of wearing a robe after the bath, etc.-Julie Sands

Not terry cloth but still soft and absorbent
I purchased 20 of these Diamond Weave Turkish Cotton Towels for an upcoming family trip and I'm extremely pleased with them.First of all, you need to understand that these are NOT terry cloth. They are a fairly loose weave cotton that is more like a tea towel. And like a tea towel, they aren't absorbent when brand new. You need to wash and dry them 3-4 times for them to soften and thicken and become absorbent. (Don't use any kind of fabric softener on these (or any towels) as that actually decreases absorbency over time.)There are different weaves when it comes to this type of towel and the diamond weave is one of the thickest and most absorbent. The white stripes are woven in, not printed, and the diamond weave carries throughout the towel. This matters because some Turkish towels like this have diamond weaving in the body but the stripes are plain weave. This can cause distortion after washing as the diamond weave shrinks and thickens more than the plain weave. There is no such distortion with these towels after washing.Although they are thin compared to terry cloth towels, it's surprising how absorbent they are. They work really well for drying off poolside or at the beach and even better, look wonderful when worn as a pareo. These have self fringe at either end that is knotted but not twisted, as some other styles feature. I've had no problems with the fringe tangling so far but I've only washed them 4 times. They do produce quite a lot of lint the first few times you wash them so remember to clean your dryer lint trap and don't wash/dry them with dark things initially. The colors do not bleed in the wash, though. These are especially well suited to travel because they are thin and light and take up very little space in your bag or luggage. Plus, after use you can hang them and they dry really quickly.I first found these type of towels on a trip to Greece and I am a fan. On the Mediterranean, everyone uses these because they are so versatile. They are used as wraps, scarves, baby slings, blankets, table cloths and curtains as well as towels. The size is generous enough that they are perfect for laying on a lounge chair pool side or at the beach.BTW, they really are made in Turkey. Mine were shipped from there and it was satisfyingly quick, too.I chose the pistachio color and the picture is very representative of the actual color. I personalized each towel with machine embroidery and had no problem hooping or embroidering on them. Despite the thinness of the towels, they are quite sturdy. NOTE: When you order, immediately contact the seller with your color choice. If no choice is made, a random assortment of colors will be sent.As long as you understand these are not terry cloth, you'll likely be as happy with these as I am.UPDATE: I notice the towels offered in this listing have changed. Still diamond weave but a different stripe pattern and the fringe is twisted. I would imagine the styles change periodically due to the different (likely small and independent) Turkish suppliers they use. I am going to buy a set of these because the 20 I bought for a Mexico trip went over incredibly well. We used them as beach and pool towels daily since they dried so much faster than the resort beach towels. I will update again if this slightly different towel washes or performs differently in any way.

Great towels
I first tried Turkish towels at a VRBO in France. Liked them so much I wanted them at home. These are lovely.

Soft and absorbant
I soaked them in water for 24 hours and then washed them in washing machine regular wash. The towels became nice and soft and I love them. They are supposedly prewashed, but I washed them before using anyway.

Good for bathroom
I’ve been using these bath towels for awhile and they work about as expected. I like that they are fast-drying. My only complaint is that the weave isn’t as tight as on other Turkish towels that I have bought. I wouldn’t use these in sand.Overall a good value.

Beautiful looking but too much shedding
These towels came highly recommended when comparing Turkish cotton towels online. They were so pretty out of the package, a great size, and felt super soft.However….Holy cow, do they shed!! Like if I saved all the fiber that rubs off when attempting to dry my self, I could weave another freaking towel. I feel like I have to shower again and dry off with my old towels.I’ve followed the extensive instructions prior to use, like soaking them for up to 24 hours, 4 TIMES, and drying them in on super low. Nothing helps. I’m a lint covered monster. Also, they haven’t maintained appearance very well. In the soaking process, I’ve laundered them a total of 4 times and threads have pulled loose all over them.I hope they shed less eventually, but as of now, I would not recommend these towels.Purchased December 2022. Color: black and white.

Starting to pill
Theses towels are visually appealing, soft, dry quickly, and save space but they already pilled. It’s a bummer because I like them so much. I followed the instructions on the care card. Oh well. Live and learn.

Bosphorus and Cacala comparison
I am very happy with these diamond weave bath towels in grey by Bosphorus. They line dried really soft and are very absorbent. I already owned the Cacala Paradise towel in navy (on the left) which is almost identical in size but as you can see by the photo is a thinner, tighter weave. The Cacala is not as soft but is lighter weight and so was a great choice for what I wanted...a travel towel. But for my bathroom I prefer the Bosphorus. The diamond weave is definitely softer, looser, and nicer on the skin. My friend has had her set for months and they still look great.

Ideal
I can't get enough of these. I gave up on regular towels years ago as Fitou are adaptable (sarong/beach blanket etc etc), wash well and dry quickly.

Want to like it, but pills are never ending
I want to like this. It is highly absorbent. So it works very well as a towel. However it’s been a couple months now, and it still pills when I use it.Many washes and used daily, the pilling never stops with any of the towels. When I go to cream, all I see is a bunch of black pieces of the towel on my skin. Very unfortunate. My first Turkish towel so I’m not sure if that’s a trait or if it’s just this one. I’ll try another Turkish towel and see it it’s better.

Love the look, not mad about the lint production
I love the look and how fast they dry after use or after washing them. I was so pedantic about washing them the correct way as I really want these to last so I’ve been super gentle with them HOWEVER, it’s been 3 months now and they are still producing crazy amounts of lint. I don’t know if this is just one of those things I’ll have to live with or if I could do something better in the washing cycle. Just a heads up if this is something that might bother you too :)
