⸻ Title: Deep, Rich Black Hair Color
The Madison Reed Radiant Hair Color Kit in Pescara 2NNA delivers beautiful, deep black results. It provides full gray coverage without the harsh smell of ammonia, leaving my hair soft, shiny, and healthy-looking. The application is easy to follow, and the color lasts longer than many other brands I’ve tried. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a salon-quality color at home.

Hair Dye Magic 😍
Great, great product, stop hesitating on it if you're on the fence. The box contains EVERYTHING you need. It has gloves, shampoo, conditioner barrier cream to protect skin discoloration, cleansing cloth. Seriously folks it's so worth it. OMG the color is gorgeous, I purchased the dark chocolate brown ( catania) love, love, love it. I'm a fan. No odor, doesn't irritate skin Madison Reed knocked it out of the park. I'll be back for more 👏👏👏👏

Great color and easy to use
I really liked this hair color kit. It was easy to apply, the color turned out beautiful, and my hair felt soft afterward. The instructions were clear and the results looked very natural. I would definitely use this product again.

Might be great for short hair or hair not previously colored. For me? Awful.
I used Light Golden Red, &7NCG, Genova Red. On the package, the color looked like an exact match for my original hair color. (I have just enough grey, here & there throughout my hair, to want to cover it... for now, anyway. Vanity... right? lol ) I fell in love with Madison Reed's packaging and the thoughtfulness shown in this very complete hair color kit. The messaging in it dazzled me, as well. Using the product, I didn't care for the smell of it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some ammonia-based hair color products. So far, so good. In addition, I was impressed by how much hair color was included. Even with long, thick hair, I was able to cover everything from the roots to the very longest tips of my hair, and do so completely. The included shampoo and conditioner were both lavish and generous. Again, as someone with very thick hair, this was appreciated. But then, fresh from the shower, I looked in the mirror. Umm... It looked like the color coverage wasn't consistent. Not even close. Worse, when my hair was dry, the color at the top of my head was spectacular, but starting at about ear level, the color was much darker. Indoors, it looks almost black. On someone as fair-skinned as me, the effect was jarring. Suddenly, every freckle and laugh line seemed more obvious. This was NOT flattering. Oddly, the ends of my hair barely took any color at all. That was fine, because naturally colored hair is usually lighter (sun bleached) at the ends. In the accompanying photo, my head is tilted, so I'm looking up. You're seeing the top of my head as well as my back. Also, that picture was taken on a slightly overcast day, so the variations in color aren't due to extreme lighting. It looks far worse indoors, but I think the photo conveys the essense of the problem. Note: It's been a few years since I was a hair model, but I picked up a lot of hair coloring tips from the pros. So, I'm still mindful of the importance of coloring my hair thoroughly and consistently, and following package directions - to the letter - for the best results. In other words, it's not as if I smothered the top of my head with hair dye, and just loosely spread the rest of my hair with far lighter coverage. Likewise, I didn't douse the middle (now darkest) band of my hair with extra color, or omit coloring the ends, either. To me, it looks like this hair color should not be used on long, previously colored hair. I'd ask for a refund if I had anything to return to the seller, but - of course - I used the complete package. So, at best, that was a waste of $30. I'm going to wait a week so my hair has time to recover, and then I'll be using an "oops!" products to remove the Madison Reed hair color. Fingers crossed, it'll restore how my hair looked before using Madison Reed's hair color. (If that doesn't work, Plan B is to streak my hair with blonde. At worst, it'll look "artsy.") I'll agree that the Madison Reed hair color at the top of my head looks exactly as I'd hoped. It's very close to the color shown on the product's packaging. The probem is: The rest of my hair looks awful. If your hair is short - and, preferably, has never been colored before - you may love Madison Reed. For me, this was an extremely distressing experience. Fortunately, I work at home. This week, only my family will see my hair. If I go out, I'll wear a hat. Then, my hair will look oddly dark with almost blonde sun-bleaching at the ends. Short-term, I'm okay with that. I was tempted to give this product two stars because the packaging was a delight to read, and the included gloves, cap, shampoo, and conditioner were wonderful extras. However, I'm so disappointed by the product itself, I have to give this one star, and share my experience with others, so they don't make a similar mistake.

Great, rich blonde color
Product produces good results. Has some trouble covering grays/white hair, but that is indicated by manufacturer's warning, so that's on me. Color fades very well, looking natural as it wears and providing high and lowlights that help blend the variances. Have used 3x and will continue until I want a different color. Manufacturer uses way too much packaging, though--what a waste of cardboard and materials. They should also simplify their directions for quick review and label their main materials (mixers to color with) more clearly. I've been coloring my hair for a long time, and while I support the product as one of the better results, the manufacturer's communication and packaging needs an update. Doing so would reduce the cost somewhat, which is a little high for at-home materials.

Quality Hair Color
Easy to use and true to color! Long lasting and doesn’t seem to fade as quickly as some others. Very pleased with the quality and ease of use. Packaged very well and finally gloves that fit! This company takes pride in their products!

Best Ammonia Free Color I've tried
Love this Light Ash Brown formula. My hair is "grey" (actually white now) and this ammonia free color covers my grey completely. What I really like is that the color lasts much longer than other ammonia free colors I have tried. Many ash brown ammonia free products use henna in the formula which results in red or brassy undertones. This product stays smokey (ash) even when color starts to fade. This product is gentle on the hair and scalp, more so than other ammonia-free hair color products I have used. No itchy bumps on scalp with this product and longer lasting results. Although Madison Reed is twice the cost, it is well worth the money.

Overpriced and over-marketed, but one of the only dyes that don't horribly irritate my scalp.
Glad I can write this review and share my experiences with both the color and the company. Madison Reed is the only hair color I have found (yet!) that doesn't make my scalp itch tremendously (but it is not completely irritation-free). The company loudly touts their lack of chemicals and irritants in their product, but they omit such important things as FRAGRANCES, which they reluctantly acknowledge are in their hair color, if you question them. Still, I haven't found another brand (yet!) that covers my gray roots and has less irritation. Good color, but you pay a price for this product in several ways. You can't buy just the color, or the color and their developer, a la carte (I've tried, and they refused), you have to buy their whole "Kit," which includes things that I don't need, won't use, prefer my own choice of products, or am allergic to, ranging from plastic gloves and a "cap" to packets containing samples of their house-brand conditioner, shampoo, and cleansing wipe. That is their justification for charging $35.00 PLUS TAX FOR ONE SELF-APPLICATION "KIT." Also gotta pay for all that expensive advertising, marketing, unnecessary packaging, and patented formulas. I have to touch up my gray roots every three weeks, so that adds up. (Used to pay $9.99 for Wella professional products, until I developed sensitivity to them.) And that's the price you'll pay whether you buy the color online on their website, on Amazon, or at one of the few companies that sell it, such as Ulta or Walmart, or whether you go into one of their brick-and-mortar "Color Bars" and purchase it there. The only "discount" is a couple of dollars off if you subscribe and provide your credit card info and receive it automatically every couple of weeks, or buy multiple services and visits. BTW, if you live in a city that has a Color Bar, if you try calling the store's particular listed number, even though it may appear to be a local number with a local prefix, not an 800 toll-free number, YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH TO THE STORE, ONLY TO A CALL CENTER IN THE PHILIPPINES! And the agent there (if you can understand their English) can't/won't even transfer you to the store, even if you request them to do so. Also BTW, if you buy from the Madison Reed website or at their store, you have to go through hoops and divulge all sorts of private information, under the guise of them helping you find out which of their colors you need. You can't skip that step. And they won't take cash in their company stores, where they will apply their own color and just shampoo and rinse it out only, at these prices: "New Clients: $60 Roots or $92 All-Over Color (Mon–Wed)." They provide you a dryer to blow-dry your hair yourself! Otherwise, blowout is extra. So now when I have to buy a "kit," I go into a brick-and-mortar Ulta store (fortunately my city has several) that has the shade I need in stock-- be sure to check that ahead of time-- and purchase it there. It's unfortunate that there aren't other companies that can create a truly completely hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free, permanent hair dye product that doesn't irritate the scalp and also covers gray well. I'm sure there are a lot of us out there. Dermatologists I've gone to also sadly are clueless about this, for the most part. Hope someone reads this and does so and makes a lot of money! Are you listening, Jeff Bezos??!!
