I made one of these with popsicle sticks that didn’t hold up well so I decided to purchase one. I looked at a large number of them. Many came in sets with parts I wouldn’t use or already had, others came in sets of 2 to show either the greater or the less than. This one is simple, durable and most helpful of all; reversible. The students can come to the board and move it without breaking it. It is wooden, thicker than the large popsicle sticks, and the magnet is strong enough to hold it in place without slipping.

I had to update my review on this tool. At first, it didn't magnetize to my board; however now it says up there nicely. I taught my student to use the open part to help make the greater/less than symbols!

My students LOVE these alligators!! Frankly, so do I. They are adorable! They are fantastic for teaching the concept of more than and less than. I bought the larger magnetic ones first and those are great to use when I introduce and model on my magnetic interactive board the concept of more than and less than. I use these smaller ones when I partner them up and they work together to write their own more than and less than number sentences. I would highly recommend this product!I wish they made the = signs in both a magnetic and non magnetic too! I would buy those in a heartbeat!

Expensive, but totally worth it! Made math that much more fun and it’s magnetic so it’s sturdy and we can put it on the fridge or the door when not in use. Larger than we thought it would be too.

These greater than/less than alligators have been excellent math manipulatives for teaching my students the concept of greater than and less than. The alligators have been a classroom favorite and my students look forward to using them for our greater than/ less than lessons.

The kids love this is in the classroom & so do I. I wish the magnet was a bit stronger & gave me the confidence that it will last a long time. I would buy it again with a stronger magnet or a lower cost. Overall the item is cute and makes learning more fun.
