1560 Geneva Bible - First Edition Facsimile Regular Edition - Hardcover - Burgundy Hardcover – January 1, 2022

When I first opened the package I was shocked it was soooo big! It's about the size and weight if an old "family bible". You remember the ones ... mom would put cards and letters in and display on the coffee table. This is a hefty bible!The actual print and paper are beautiful! I was a little nervous seeing the language not in modern English but in just a couple of sits I've decided it is fairly easy! I am having to refer to other translations here and there to pick up words but I'm sure with time it'll be particularly an easy read. I'm so very happy with it!! I will likely order a smaller size Geneva to carry to church (because this one is large) but I am thrilled with product vs cost.I've included pictures of my NIV Psalm text compared to this Geneva and also some size comparison pictures next to my standard size KJV. Hope this helps push you towards splurging if your trying to decide. It's simply lovely!

I love this! It’s got so many details that have been removed from what we read now that are pertinent to each historical account. I get to brush up on old English and Roman numerals.

As a modern reader, having previously read multiple modern Bible translations and period classics such as Shakespeare (1558-1603), made it much easier to understand this middle-English text of 1560. But worth it? YES! So very grateful to add this incredible achievement to our home library, and to add the words therein to heart and mind. May God deeply bless all those of yesterday and today, who diligently and painstakingly committed their labor to this work, that we may richly benefit.Somehow, the extra (but manageable) effort required to "unlock" the slightly cryptic font style and vocabulary necessitates increased engagement, which in turn increases grasp, absorption and memory imprint, a wonderfully blessed outcome.

You see the photos. It’s worth every penny. This was my gift to myself for my birthday, and I have no regrets. There really is an authentic page from the original text included!

This bible is an amazing bible to add to my collection. I read all my bibles and make notes in them all. This one however, is honestly too expensive for me to even think about putting pen to page. Although the pages are exceptionally thick and I love that. This is a very large volume and has all the original text in it. But that's not what actually made me want to cry. I was unboxing it when my husband was calling me. I opened up the pamphlet that came with it and there was a tattered old page of one of the original Geneva bibles. I got the first page of numbers. I didn't except that I was like no, this cant be part of the packaging. My husband asked me why I was so shocked on the phone and I said I have a Geneva original page in my hand. He said it can't be one from the original bibles. When he got home and I handed it to him he said wow. He's like we need to get a frame for this. My husband is also a history buff and he has a doctrine in comparative religion. He thought that was really cool. It is deffinitly worth the money.

I absolutely love having this Bible to refer to for original non watered down text, however, I struggle with reading Old English and with the text being so small and kind of blotchy in some spots my eyeballs hurt after about an hour. I love having this piece of history and it certainly was a splurge price wise but I think i'm going to go ahead and get a large print.PS: What a wonderful surprise and treasure it was finding an original page included, it is now framed for safe keeping.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and I had to open it and look at it early to make sure it was ok and no issues !!! He’s going to flip out over this !!!! Best gift you can get someone !!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Overall very good. It's more difficult to read. It requires more time to read.
