I thought Cycleops was a great workout, until Rim Driven
I've trained with a Cycleops since 2001. I finally got fed up with pumping air constantly and replacing tires ruined by Cycleops mechanisms. I bought this and realized even the workouts are more challenging and muscle specific. The first time on this rim driven, I kept thinking I had something wrong because it was hard! AFTER a couple days, my muscles adapted and I got stronger. I have more time to workout because I'm not fidgeting with airing tire and tightening, loosening, etc. I don't have the ability to go riding because of a disability, so it is imperative to my overall fitness to have a workout option other than elliptical and treadmill. This trainer is awesome. I was able to set it up with one hand, with a tiny bit of help. I didn't bother buying a new tire because the rim is all I need. I recommend this for any athlete needing variety and definitely cyclists who need a challenge. The first one was improperly packaged and had a broken piece. Amazon had another on my doorstep in less than 48 hours, plus the manufacturers sent a new part. Great customer service too. Buy this! Cycleops is fired!

I Love it!
I was really worried about buying this, I have never used a trainer and was worried I would not like it... I did research on them prior to buying them and read that the Rim Drive are better as they do not wreck your rear tire, that was my main reason to buy this one. This gives me a great workout and I love that I can train the winter months on my bike so in the spring I will be able to take to the road with out any adjustment...Its also really easy to add and remove the bike to this, it makes it nice and portable!I would buy again in a heart beat!

Great trainer.
This is the first trainer i've purchased and chose this one for three reasons. 1) It can fit both mountain and road bikes and accommodate disc brakes. 2) It does not wear down the tire and 3) price for both of those features. It was pretty easy to set up, maybe took me 20 minutes and offers more than the resistance you might need. I'm a fairly novice road biker and have that bike in the trainer now. I haven't had to move it off of the lowest resistance setting yet and find that just combining that with my gear resistance has been plenty for me. I've already noticed my legs getting stronger however and anticipate using the higher settings soon.

I Emphatically Recommend This Product!!!
Love this trainer so much that I just got another one for our daughter for Christmas. It's heavy duty, the stand is incredibly stable, there are several resistance settings and I've had no problems with it.I strongly suggest spending the few bucks to get the 'block' to hold the front tire and a mat to go underneath it. The block keeps the handlebars from moving side to side when I put my head down, close my eye, 'get in the zone' and don't realize I'm moving them some. The mat keeps my carpet protected and clean and keeps the trainer from making permanent indentations in it. I couldn't be happier and emphatically recommend this product!
