WinCrest Unsweetened Carob Chips (1.5 Lb Tub)

First of all, these taste really good! But the thing I was most impressed with was the packaging for shipping. They were wrapped in a padded cooler bag with a cold pack! I was really worried when I saw these would be delivered on our first 100 degree day of the year, but they were perfect! Not a bit melted. I’ll definitely order from this company again.

I can't have any caffeine due to recent diagnosis of a heart arrhythmia. Chocolate has always been my favorite food, especially dark chocolate which has the most caffeine. So sad. But carob has been a lifesaver. You can't go into it thinking it's going to taste like the beloved dark chocolate, but I acquired a taste for it. It looks like chocolate, smells like chocolate. I found these chips are very bitter so I melt them down with some white chocolate (No caffeine in white chocolate) and a dab of coconut oil and make my own filled treats. If you mix it with other flavors, like white chocolate, coconut oil and then make a raspberry or mint filling it is great. I did some dipped gram crackers with the same mixture. Fantastic. I will try some Carmel filled too. Its fun making my own filled treats (got all the supplies on Amazon) and it makes each one very special. I also made carob covered almonds and raisins. So no, it's not chocolate, but if you can't have chocolate anymore, experiment with it until you find something you like.

Perfect vegan substitute for chocolate chips in trail mix. Not quite as sweet, but it brings many of the correct flavor notes.

This is my 2nd order of this product, so I was, obviously, pleased with it. When I was recently running low, I was hesitant to reorder. Texas. May. Temps in the 90s with 100 coming any time. Did they arrived melted as I had feared? No. There was no way it could melt thanks to the care taken when shipping. The carob chips had two 16 Oz. Ice packs. Each ice pack was wrapped in brown paper in case of leakage. (One bag did leak a small amount of gel onto the brown paper,but it did not impact the product.) The Carob chips and the wrapped ice packs had been overwrapped with a plastic-lined mylar bag that was sealed on all edges. This was over-wrapped with a custom cut layer of thick foam to perfectly nestle the carob chips in the Amazon box. Perfection! I was very impressed. Thank you for the good product and getting it to me in Texas in great condition!!!

Does not taste good. Plus mostly melted together when I got it. Lesson learned.

These tasted delicious I've already consumed half of the container.Carob is something that you love it or hate it. It's not chocolate and shouldn't be confuse with either one

First time ordering from this company. I shall say I am BEYOND pleased. I tried to wait until weather wasn't so hot. Of course, thanks Texas weather, it got in the 90s again on delivery day. HOWEVER, they packaged it with a good ice pack & a fridge bag. I'm so pleased. The chips were only a bit soft, but not melted together. Awesome!Taste is one of the best carob products I've tried; I've tried a lot. I have an allergy to all things cocoa (even cocoa butter) & having a substitute is comforting. Shame it's usually so hard to find. I shall utilize this company in the future for all my carob needs. I got the unsweetened. So GOOD! I typically turn them into my own candies, so it's mixed with sweetened condensed milks. Having an unsweetened option is beneficial. Thank you so much. (PS: Carob chips melted in a coconut-pandan sweetened condensed milk is beyond divine.)

There is a lot of chocolate chips in this container. I purchased these to make chocolate free dog treats. He absolutely loves these. I don't mind the taste either. Great for animals and people who can't tolerate true chocolate.
