Love me a Dell
I've had Dell PCs for years, and loved them. A few years ago I bought a Lenovo mostly due to the price. It was functional at best and finally gave up the ghost a month ago. I bought another Lenovo because it was on sale. It toasted on the first try set up, but second go round worked. Needless to say that was only the beginning of the problems. It was slowwwww, ofen crashed, shut off or stopped responding. It lasted a month before it would no longer even boot. I decided not to even mess with it and returned to an old friend. My new Dell is the perfect companion; fast, easy to use, consistent and reliable.

Decent budget laptop
The Good.Great budget laptop, fully functional, slim and easy to handle. Built in WiFi, SSD; and those are in the plus column for sure. Comes with a warranty and great service by Dell. The Not So Good.To say that this laptop runs Windows 11 is an overstatement: it chokes on Windows 11. If you monitor the system you'll see that the CPUs peg upon load and it takes several minutes for the system to quiesce and become usable.Hard resetsSince the battery is not replaceable it has external power protection, and it will shut down and require a hard reset without warning. Hard reset takes several minutes to execute. I have had to stop using it as a presentation laptop. The Video nothing to write home aboutVideo LCD quality is not that good, although it supports decent resolutions. You can overcome by pushing to a second monitor.SummaryIt's a nice "at home" laptop for social media, browsing, and productivity. You should consider something a little more robust for any type of presentation or intensive I/O. It's worth the money I paid for it.

Raggedy as Hell
I purchased a 2022 Dell Inspiron 15 on November 23, 2022. In December 2023, not even a full 13 months after I purchased it, it fell apart. Don't believe me? Look at the photos.I think for this to happen is beyond belief. I have purchased my share of computers, mainly laptops, in my life, as well as used them at my workplace and the majority have been the Dell brand. But I don't care what brand it is, I don't think this should be occurring just from opening the lid. And I opened it from the middle but that shouldn't matter, either. Laptops should not fall apart, pull apart or crack up if the user is not mistreating them. And my laptop was supposedly a new one. There was an issue pertaining to two service tags associated with my device, which I attempted to determine why before it cracked up. Craftsmanship was sorely lacking here, as well as quality control and oversight. It looked fine from the outside and for the most part, performed satisfactory, with the exception of issues with product updates on occasion. With consumers constantly having to pay more for electronics even while materials of less quality appear to be used in manufacturing them, clearly this trend should be reversed. In addition, I believe that distribution processes deserve closer scrutiny. I'm talking to you, Amazon.

Works! So far....
I've only had it for about 6 hours. Bought it used. (Like new condition). Booted up nicely. Everything seems to be in order.Have to see how long it lasts. Great price. 👍

This laptop is light and fast.
My old Dell Inspiron which came with Windows 7 and was upgraded several times and was just getting too slow and un-responsive for many minutes at a time. Decided to order a new one and am very happy with it. Came with Windows 11 in S-mode which I backed out of as I like to use Express VPN and also have a few other apps that would not install under the S-mode. Seems to work the same after backing out and installing my favorite apps.

replaced my 2016 Dell Inspiron
My 2016 Dell Inspiron was slowly dying. I could no longer get support on it....and finally I got a new one here last month from Amazon. This one is good. Windows 11 is a learning curve...but getting there. I had to buy a new printer/scanner/copier too....so I had an IT guy come and hook everything up and make them all talk to each other. Seems good.I barely ever moved the old laptop....it's my work/office set up with a remote bigger monitor and wireless keyboard, so I think this one will just sit in my office too...but it is nice that it is a laptop if I ever DO have to take it on the road with me.I suppose it's just my history....but I've had good luck with Dell and this one I hope will be the same.

Support Services for the laptop expired 29 days before my purchase
The laptop arrived a day earlier than expected. It was well packaged and was new in the sealed box. I waited five days to open the box because of unexpected busyness. When I opened it and began the set up, it forced me to log in to Microsoft, but thankfully I was able to change in the settings afterward so that I can have a local account login instead. I scanned the QR code to reach Dell's support and because I thought it might be a good idea to register the laptop. That's when I found out that the laptop that I bought on Black Friday 2023 had support services that expired 27 Oct 2023. That is rather disconcerting to say the least. That definitely reduces the value for the money. The Microsoft Account connection being required reduces the ease of use tremendously for me, but I still rated it 3 stars since I was able to figure out the settings and establish a "local account." My overall rating currently is 3 because it is reminding me already of the nightmare laptop (Lenovo Ideapad L340 which was reminiscent of the speed of dialup internet and more frustrating than trying to use a toothpick to hit a baseball) I was trying to escape with this one. I had such a terrible experience with the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 that this one may be getting a much better review than it deserves because so far it seems a bit sluggish, and again, I am very concerned that I cannot even register the device and that the Dell support services status was "EXPIRED" before I even purchased the device. Maybe I should have rated it one star...
