These are great little supplements. I would say the presentation of information is secular/neutral leaning toward evolutionary. I’m religious but I believe in teaching my children both creationism and evolution so that they can decide as they get older what they believe. For younger ages, I’d say they can be complete science lessons. I homeschool and have two kids ages 10 and 7. They both love these books! I transitioned my 10 year-old to a full science curriculum two years ago, but I’m still using this exclusively for my seven year old’s science curriculum. The lessons are presented in such a way that it’s easy for the child to retain the information and my daughters both found the books very interesting and fun to do. They’re very colorful, which helps a lot. I’ve used the first, second, and now have the third grade Skill Sharpener Science. I’ve loved all of them and I feel like they’re a bit fluid on the grade level. For example, I was able to get my second grader the third grade level, but my older daughter also still finds the book interesting, even though she’s in fifth grade and has a full science textbook that she studies from. They’re great for homeschoolers, summer bridge, or supplements throughout the school year. I can’t recommend these books enough, especially for parents that are just starting out with homeschooling or maybe have a tight budget. These books can really come in clutch and they have a lot of different subjects available. I added four pictures: the two that have to do with force and the marshmallow popper/friction in action are from the third grade book. The two about the clouds are from the second grade book, which my daughter is just about finished with. The can’t recommend these books enough.

This was the perfect summer workbook review. 2-3 pages per lesson and a fun activity to re-enforce the lesson.

I love how this is divided into different sections to work as little or as much as your LO can tolerate. Each section builds on the one prior to make for a smooth transition. It also has little science experience to reinforce the subject you are working on to give you some hands on fun.

This is a great resource for homeschoolers. I especially likes the hands on activities that are described,
