I have histamine intolerance and terrible food sensitivities. I also love jerky (beef, bison, turkey, elk, and so on). Unfortunately, most jerky on the market is saturated in soy sauce and black pepper (both high histamine), is made from OLD meat (higher histamine!), and has a large number of ingredients (many of which are high histamine and/or a food sensitivity); I can have a running nose immediately and heartburn quickly that lasts hours after consuming. Dear god, have I tried most of the pastured and organic jerky out there! If I was in better health, I would certainly try to make my own, but, FINALLY, here's Brooklyn Biltong's "Naked"-- high quality beef, great flavor, and only 3 ingredients! I had ZERO histamine issues and ZERO heartburn. Considering I'm on the carnivore diet per doctor and nutritionist's recommendation for GI tract healing, I need more than what I can cook, and snacks to take with me... look no more! My three "cons" with "Naked" biltong, which may or may not be how it is for all flavors, are that it is moderately greasy, a bit stringy and hard to chew for some pieces, and the individual pieces are pretty small (there's a lot in each bag, though!). It's just not the easiest casual snack when you're out and about. Having a napkin handy and knowing where you can wash your hands is probably ideal... Ultimately, I appreciate everything about this product and I find the pure flavor to be so pleasant after years of over-seasoned jerky. I've finally found my snack staple! The only thing that could make it better... a little more for a little less $$, but that's not the way food is trending.

I have been eating this Biltong on autoship for over a year now & I am obsessed with it. I truly don’t understand how there are so many bad reviews, it’s truly a shame. People who get it, GET IT & those who don’t, clearly don’t I guess. This Biltong is IDEAL for anyone on the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP). A HUGE win for me, is this is literally the only brand I have been able to find that doesn’t have black pepper on it, or sugar or other crap. This is pure, good quality stuff. The texture is amazing, so soft, way better than any jerky. Also the flavor is great! Those who are reviewing otherwise clearly are used to eating a bunch of junk & don’t like the taste of real food…WILD. I’m also shocked by all the people who comment about the food molding… I’ve been ordering 4-6 every month on autoship & have never had that problem. Eat the Biltong in a reasonable time & it won’t mold on you. Shocking I know. Anyways, if you’re looking for a good quality, clean ingredients, AIP friendly high protein snack. Look no further. 10/10 recommend.

This is NOT like any other biltong or jerky that I've ever had, and I've tried dozens of different vendors/products. The taste is HORRIBLE. I ended up feeding this to my dogs, who also sniffed at it before eating, and they're not picky eaters. Garbage.

Good tasting product.. but a bit chewy and greasy and many tiny price pieces in bag. better than most dried meat products but not in the top tier.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this jerky, it is thinly sliced, and oh so delicious, airy, and you don't have to chew on it long( aside from the fat), my only 2 problems with it is that I can eat an entire 8oz bag in a sitting, and it does get stuck in my teeth pretty bad from the fat, it's kinda hard to chew, but aside from that it's my fave jerky so far, especially with how clean it is. I would love for the price to me 10$ less a bag, but other than that, hands down the best.

This is SO tasty. However, I was surprised to see how small a quantity it was for such a large price.

Order with no taste expectations. If you had the larger bags of this jerky from Costco and are expecting these smaller bags to taste the same, lower your expectations. It does not taste bad, but it does not taste as fresh as the bags from Costco. This jerky tastes like it has been sitting in a warehouse for a while and the pieces are extremely shaved, almost crumbs of the larger bags. I loved this product in Costco and for how clean it is. But these small bags were quite a disappointment and not worth the price.

This product is great! I have been looking for "beef jerky" like this for a long while. A co-worker of mine gave me some while we were traveling so I knew it was good before ordering. As a favor to those who are shopping... Ensure this is the type of product you are actually looking for. If you expect that this is going to taste like beef jerky you get at a drugstore, gas station, grocery store or even Whole Foods, you are likely to be disappointed. If you want beef jerky that is sweet and has a texture unlike meat, you are likely to be disappointed. If you want high-protein FOOD that has minimum ingredients and no unneeded ingredients such as sugars and preservatives, this may be what you are looking for. If you are not interested in eating sweat, oddly soft-textured beef jerky, this may be for you. (I'm the guy that asks, "Why does beef jerky have 8 grams of sugar per serving!!??") From reading the bad reviews on here, most are from people who didn't seem to understand what they were ordering. This is a great snack for biking, hiking, traveling, etc. The individual serving packs I got were exactly what I was looking for. (32 grams of protein in a pack--no sugar at all.) The expiration date on the packs I received is 10 months from when I received the product.👍🏼
