Inc. Seagull® IV X-1F and PurestOne TP-1 Compatible Replacement Cartridge

It filters water efficiently. We replace these about once a year. That's about the time when the water starts tasting different and the filter runs a bit slower. We use it every day for 2 adults and 2 kids.Clear instructions and requires minimal assembly. Very easy to install.Water tastes crisp and clear.

Well, based on reviews I went with this over the official Seagull filter for the Seagull IV filter canister. The issue is that even after 2 weeks, (Installed April 21st 20222) we have black specks, what I guess is carbon, showing up in the water that is dispensed. So even though the filter is less costly, I am not sure it is as good as the official one. I even reopened the canister today and checked it inside, cleaned it, and put the filter back in only to still have the issue. (The inside of the canister looks fine with no carbon that can be seen.) I reached out to the company but no reply. If the seller reads this, please feel free to reach out as I would love to have your thought on it and or a new filter. I was contacted about the issue and they had me check the line coming from the canister to the tap seeing the cartridge I was replacing was 2 years old. (a Seagull IV cartridge) it see if anying may be stuck in the line which may have come from the old filter cartridge. But just in case, they were sending me a new filter cartridge that same day. Again, OUTSTANDING Service!

USED FOR 36 YRS WITH MY SEAGULL IV

Same high quality filter I've been using for years. I appreciate the consistency of high standards. I've been willing to pay a bit more over the years, but these are a little expensive. It would benefit the company to explain in their product descriptions why they are costly. The weight alone tells me that there is something solid to the product, though, as they are heavy for their size. I did not experience any cloudiness or odd taste. Water ran clear and good from install on, though I did go ahead and flush the system a couple times before regular use.

I have been using these for several years. They seem to work the same as the more expensive filters .

With only modest use, two adults, coffee and drinking water only, after 2 months the water developed a chemical taste and odor. Tested incoming water supply, no odor or bad taste.Replaced with genuine General Ecology filter, issues resolved, water tastes great and no odor. The last General Ecology filter lasted over one year and I only replaced it because it seemed like it should be replaced after a year.I'll stick with General Ecology.

Looks just like the seagull filter and installs the same. I had issues with slow water flow and contacted the seller, he suggested my tanks might have sediment and he was correct. After decalcifying with 1:5 ratio of vinegar for 48 hours the water was flowing fantastically. I will continue to buy these filters for their price, quality and customer support!

We have had the seagull water filter system for years and love it but should change the cartridge more frequently. It is difficult to change, mostly because it is under the sink, but it is definitely worth it.
