For Turtles
I have two adult red-eared sliders. It's difficult getting a lot of those bulky items out of the gravel, but this item does the job well. It's expensive, and it takes a while to set up this attachment (about 10-15min). The good thing is that it really works. I didn't have trouble vacuuming the larger turds, shell pieces, even smaller matter, without all of that spinning inside the tube nonsense. The best way I would describe this device is a complete spa day for the bottom of the tank (As it should be those bags are pricey), but I think it's worth it once you see the results. I recommend that if you buy this you get your money's worth by completely cleaning the tank. It'll look really good. I think it has worked better for the bulky parts (turtle owners will understand) than regular gravel cleaners, and this is due to the ease of picking up various sizes matter with a strong suction, and without getting rocks or unwanted matter vacuumed. The gravel cleaner end was made brilliantly so that anything free floating will be vacuumed. The bag collects the gunk so you don't have to worry about it recycling through the filter system. I would say this has been comparable to the python system that goes directly on the sink faucet. I changed my sink set-up so I had to find a replacement. This one has become my new system for clean up. I'll probably just hold on to my regular gravel cleaner as a emergency spare. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Everytime you set-up use it completely until the tank is fully clean. 2. When you are done, do not just pull the hose out, all the shell pieces will fall back in. Think like any other hose and tilt the hose to where matter won't spill out when taking it out of the water.

Best investment
This really works, if you follow the instructions. No cords or batteries to worry about. Mines working excellent. Really does the Job

Mostly works, use caution with the connection to the bottom of the FX cannister valve
Went together easy, bought this as the other generic cleaning tools were too short or starting siphon was a bit more difficult. Use caution, my connection dislodged from the utility valve drain this kit needs spewing water onto my floor, my fault though for not checking the connection . The filtration cup works as expected, though too much force dislodges the filter cup suction cups! My recommendation is have someone to help and ensure the cup suctions stay mounted to your tank according to the directions.

Easy Cleaning and Refilling Tank
This item is nice. You need to make sure to have all connected correctly before and while using for sure. The extensions are thin so be careful when using in tank. Hoses need to be heated up when first received in hot water so they can be a little more flexible. It is awkward at first to use but once you get the hang of switching the dial on your filter and priming you will be fine. It cleans like a champ. The best part for me is that you can take the hose off of the cleaning bar and use to pump water back into the tank from your holding tanks. Clean everything well and let air dry and this item will last a long time. The collection bag must be cleaned and dried well for sure. Keep track of your suction cups. Mine was an open box order so I only had 1 suction cup out of 4 and replacements have been hard to find so far. All in all if you use an FX canister filter then you probably have a big tank and this item will be a BIG help!

Works Great!
Using this with an existing FLUVAL FX6 canister pump. My only regret is that I didn't buy this when I bought the FX6 (a year ago). This vacuum works incredibly well and has the advantage of returning the cleaned water back to the canister and then aquarium versus disposing. For my saltwater reef tank I needed to clean the tank but couldn't dispose of the water as it is being medicated for algea and cannot have a water change for 25 days. This product was the perfect solution. Extremely well built and designed as you would expect from a HAGEN/FLUVAL product.

Tad overcomplicated 55 gallon tank
The instructions aren't so clear on how to get suction and don't tell me if the filter has to be powered on or off, I've had it a LONG time and used it a few times. It either went way to fast and sucked lots of air into the system that scared the heck out of my fish when I turned it back on or took a bit to get suction if at all. If there was an order of operations telling you when to POWER it ON or OFF and open which valve that would be most helpful. No, I have not called and yes, I've read the instructions and watched the video a few times, still ran into issues. The hoses are a tad too thick for their purpose and could be a little longer to reach everywhere in my 55 gallon tank with being able to keep the device suctioned to side of tank and parallel the entire time

it is easy to use
I like it so much. it is supper easy to use. What I like the most you can spend as much as you want and clean the whole aquarium and not even do the water change. I used to use a hose and siphon the water from the gravel and as soon as my bucket get full I couldn't clean the rest and I had to wait and clean the rest in next water change. so I am so happy with it.

I love it
It actually get the job done. I have another one gravel bag that I use, but you have to dump the water if you don’t want water change.

Very quick dispatch & delivery . Which warrants 5 stars on its own merit. I have spent quite some time trying to purchase one of these for an 8 month old fx6 . Having even contacted Hagen directly themselves , only too be informed they were only available with New filters.(grrrrr) Very easy to install & trim to size the clear plastic uplift tube + hose. much longer than the 2ft need to reach the bottom of my 6ft aquarium. What I found very helpful was; I had Coral sand & Coral gravel mixed in large tank . with a bit of fine tuning I was able to not only filter but gravel but also collect the unwanted sand in the bag supplied .which I reguarly emptied into a bucket . Doing two jobs at the same time. (Bonus )
