HARRIS Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, 4lb with Powder Duster Included in The Bag

I use Harris brand DE(Food Grade only!) for SO many needs! Its my #1 Bug killer & deterant(esp in conjunction with the use of Peppermint spray(Mighty Mint)! (Btw, in a pinch, I also use soapy spray water on bugs; dried soapspray will suffocate bugs). DE is a Great dewormer(for pets&humans alike); being Non-toxic, you can progressively sprinkle a tsp-Tblspn of DE onto food, or mix in water/juice(benefits the health of our outdoor, ferral cats too). Just be careful to avoid heavy use near eyes&lungs, and DE can clog/damage vacuum filters too(water wipe up is best). Use in the Garden against pests. The duster tool works very well, but there is a learning knack to have it dust vs heavy sprinkles. Inexpensive and highly effective. Can't recommend enough!!

I was at the end of the rope on what to do about our flea infestation. My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat is constantly coming into contact with neighboring cats - that coupled with the unusual heat we've had this summer - seems to have exacerbated our flea problem. I've used the awful and toxic flea bombs - on several occasions, have used the expensive flea sprays, used a variety of medication on my cat, and have given my cat several baths - which if you knew my cat - you would know how dangerous that in itself is - because he hates water. After extensive research I came across this product, and what first grabbed my attention was the fact that the "food grade" is not toxic to humans or pets. I have a child in my home and was fearful of introducing anymore chemicals into the home; I also was fearful of putting more toxic chemicals on my cat. I treated my entire home with this stuff, along with my yard and the exterior of my home (window sills, entry ways). Now.....this stuff is really - really messy. I wasn't sure that I could handle white powder being everywhere but I was desperate to see if this product was effective at killing fleas - as it claimed to be. I sprinkled this product in the interior of my entire home, and didn't touch the product at all and let it sit overnight. (Around 17 hours) When I got up the next morning, I put a pair of white socks on so that I could see whether or not any fleas jumped on me. At first I was horrified as I literally had hundreds of fleas on my socks. I was discouraged as I first thought that this product was ineffective - not realizing the fleas were actually scrambling to stay alive. Prior to using this product - I had never seen that many fleas in my home. Seeing that many fleas made me realize just how effectice the product was as it drew the fleas out of the carpet as they were trying to get away from the product. I vacuumed up the product - vacuuming my entire home - and didn't see anymore fleas. Later that evening I vacuumed again - even the hardwood floors - and have only seen a total of two fleas. I understand that I need to vacuum - vacuum - vacuum. I still haven't let my cat back inside as I have to treat him again. At present I mix this product with his cat food to help treat him from the inside - I also rubbed some of this product into his coat. This product has been extremely effective - I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't usually write reviews - especially not this long. But because of how impressed I am with this product and how effective it really is, I wanted to share this information in the event it helps someone else.

This stuff is great for fleas! We saved a pup from a sad situation and unknowingly brought fleas into our house. After trying many products, we found this one and it seemed to work wonders and was a much safer option than many pesticide type products on the market. This was safe for humans and the dogs and we haven’t had a problem since. It’s easy to use, we just sprinkled it over the carpets and vacuumed the next day. It is a very fine powder that was a little difficult to vacuum in one go. Overall very happy with this product!

It’s used as a human main way to kill bugs that may be an area that you don’t want to have them. The good part is it doesn’t hurt anybody or any animals except for the insects who crawl over it. The bad thing if it rains, you must reapply. It is an expensive I recommend using like a mustard bottle. You put some in there easier to squirt in specific area.

This freshwater diatomaceous earth is great quality and dual purpose! We use it for our chickens to deworm them and well as keeping dust mites off AND we also put it on our dogs and under our couches to keep fleas away. I am guessing it doesnt taste bad since my chickens gobble it up. Its also easy to use.

after fighting these night time vampires for over 2 years with " professionals " this is the only product that actually works.

I purchased this diatomaceous earth after my brother came to see me complete with his fleas! He has 5 cats and a flea problem, he never mentioned this until I felt something jump on my scalp. After I had finished swearing I knew I had to find something to kill the problem, I live alone so it left me as the only host for the little blood suckers to feed on. The DE (diatomaceous earth) comes complete with a powder duster that works great, you really can get it into every nook and cranny. After dusting every room & then gently using a soft bristled yard brush to work it into the carpet I left it down for 2 weeks. I then used my bagged vacuum cleaner (you have to use a bagged vacuum cleaner as a bagless will have it's motor blown sucking up the powder) to suck it all up around my home. I'm very happy to say this DE works a treat and i'm 100% flea free. Great product.

Got them for my chickens, glad to report seems to be keeping the girls healthy. Plus used some of it in the fall on my plants that I brought indoors and no bugs brought in the house with the plants. Good product.

I love it. I sprinkle it around to send ants and spiders on their way. Nice to have a non toxic solution
