I too have thick cavles, and I had to return these as they did not fit well at all. I LOVE the support hose by Truform, you measure your calf circumference, your ankle and the distance from the back of the calf to the ankle. I wear an Xlg in the Truform and I can't say enough good things about them. I have not found any other brand that works well on heavy calves.
