Great dried lions mane
With the cost of lions mane tincture being so expensive, this is a great product to make your own. Use a blender to chop into smaller pieces and soak in alcohol. When that’s done, put the drained lions mane into a crockpot and simmer on low. Then combine the alcohol extraction into the water extraction (otherwise you get precipitates). Should result in 30% alcohol tincture.

I have been taking Fungi Perfecti Host Defense Lion's Mane for foggy memory and it helps, but I wondered if the dried mushroom might be better. I believe in getting as many of my supplements through food as I can. I sliced and sauteed them in oil and mixed them with mixed veggies. They were delicious. They absorb the flavours they are cook with. Even my husband (if Betty Crocker didn't make it I don't eat it) love of my life. liked them. We am thinking of growing them next year, and even if I don't I will be buying these from Life Gourmet again.

What can you say about a mushroom??
I wish the package had some directions on how to rehydrate them and how to judge how many to rehydrate. Like how big will it be once it's filled with water. I just used a small piece maybe the size of a quarter and about 1/2" thick and it made a lot for what I wanted. At the price, I used I needed and froze the rest. Boil it for a while to get it soft enough. I had to shred mine into very small pieces for "crab" rangoon for vegetarians so most of my stuffing is cream cheese. Not sure I would get them again, as I think shitake mushrooms would work as well and I have a ton of those hydrated. If you huydrate the whole ounce you will have a lot of mushroom!!

Delicious.
Delicious, one word that's all you need to know. Slice them, sauté in olive oil or veggie broth, add a little salt and chopped garlic. A splash of truffle oil if you have it. Then serve over pasta marinara. Enjoy.
