Just got a new TV in the bedroom which lacks the ability to have headphones plugged in AND still have the TV speakers when you need them, without needing to unplug the headphones. (Old TV did that) My first solution was adding a soundbar which on the optical digital out, works independently of the headphones, so that worked, but the digital sound was all over the place volume-wise between TV input sources as well as favoring loud music and effects with impossible to hear dialogue. Through the TV's headphone jack out, the sound was perfect. So now with this well-made splitter I can split the output and always have sound going to the headphones, and mute the soundbar (it came with a remote) when using those headphones. Works perfectly. No difference in sound quality either and a fantastic price. I'm always the guy who has a unique purpose for an item like this. I realize it's most popular as a way of sharing an audio source between two people and I would imagine with the sound quality it will deliver in that regard too.

Got this so I could use an MP3 player with one speaker and one set of headphones rather than plugging and unplugging them. This fits both as expected and does indeed split the sound into both. HOWEVER, the sound quality disappeared. Or rather, I lost a large portion of the lower registers so that the sound is now treble-heavy. It's "okay," in that regard, but far from ideal and what I wanted. Still, overall, this works and would be fine for something like a portable DVD player or maybe even gaming, but for actual music listening, less than ideal.

I had a dilemma with my work from home employer provided locked down Windows 10 laptop. I am on Microsoft Teams and Avaya voip all day. Even though I use an Elegato Wave 3 microphone and the monitoring 3.5mm jack on the back of the microphone which should theoretically allow me to use headphones and use the laptop speakers for the call ring tone. Windows 10 would not cooperate with me despite trying everything I could change in Windows audio settings and that IT allowed, EVEN AFTER involved IT to troubleshoot with updated audio drivers. Win 10 Enterprise simply refuse to work reliably with the headphones connected to the mic. It would work for an hour, then stop and the callers could not hear me or I couldn't hear them. Unfortunately, Radio Shacks are no longer available near by so I ordered this from Amazon. This low tech old school of way of connecting a speaker and my headphones work more reliably that changing the settings in Windows to use one 3.5mm for audio out and the laptop speakers for the ringing audio. It's not ideal because I have to turn off the external speakers before picking up the line, but I can hear the call ringing if I happen to be in the kitchen. Perhaps the problem will get solved once my employer decides to move to Windows 11. It's definitely an issue with the company laptop because I don't experience the same problem when I use the same setup with my own personal Windows 11 laptop or my 2024 Mac Mini. So old simple gets the job done!

If I could give zero stars I would. Listen to the one star reviews on this one. The splitter is not usable due to the extreme poor sound quality. One headphone didn't produce any sound and the other one was very little sound. This company is hiding behind their name. You assume it will work as its name brand but it seems like this is a very common problem yet they don't offer returns through amazon and their return procedure for an inexpensive item is not worth the time. Skip this one and try another.

Love it works just as intended. I wanted to stream a video game with my sister and used headphones so that audio doesn't come in through the microphone. This splitter works great just make sure to plug it all the way in.

Esta bueno, se siente de calidad y bastante duradero, lo uso para conectar dos audifonos al mismo tiempo y se escuchan bien, lo único malo seria que los dos audifonos tendran el mismo volumen y se puede escuchar algo alto o bajo para la otra persona pero eso ya no es cosa del cable

Funciona muito bem. Quem comprar esteja ciente que vai haver perda de volume, mas por mim tudo bem pois a caixa de som e o headset que eu uso tem regulagem, é só aumentar um pouco.
