I’ve been waiting for a poetry book like this for years. A book of poetry but also religious. Us Muslims don’t get a lot of powered books about God. And the various chapters that organize the poems are amazing. A Helwa’s use of language and tone are amazing, I’m such a fan of the work. Can’t wait to re-read all the poems again and again. Every day I open it at random to see what poem speaks to me that day. The intricacies of language and heart and love for God radiates through this book. Mashallah to the author for creating such an amazing work of art. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a religiously toned poetry with heart.

After reading A Helwa's Secrets of Divine Love, I was delighted to hear about From Darkness into Light and bought it as soon as it came out. I also ordered one for my sister because I knew it would be a wonderful book. Reading it brings a sense of calm along with a newfound understanding of mercy, love and faith. A Helwa not only has a wonderful ability to bring you closer to the world as it is but also the ability to sweep you off your feet with an understanding of how you feel deep inside your soul. I highly recommend this book to anyone - no matter what religion you believe in or don't believe in. Her words are enough to move any soul. After reading SoDL I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Helwa writes about the love of God in such a beautiful way, I use this book as a daily reminder and reading just a page of two each day and it rejuvenates my soul.
