So getting to your questions: In regards to our sourcing practices, our R&D has a certified doctor on staff and is heavily involved with our manufacturers for EVERY PRODUCT to make sure the raw materials used meet whatever criteria we set in our formulas, from natural status to purity. We make sure we meet all these criteria before manufacturing ever begins. Now, let me go into a bit of how we screen the manufacturers we consider working with and how we determine which manufacturers we feel safe working with. Hopefully, this will help give you an understanding of what we go through to make sure our manufacturers adhere to the highest standards of safety and sanitation. We start out with a survey for them to fill out as a part of our vetting process. In this survey, each prospective manufacturer provides information on aspects of their business. From there, we ask them follow up questions regarding their processes and/or request supplementary documentation to support claims made in their survey. This ranges from their standard operating procedures to GMP (good manufacturing practices) audits. Primarily we look for manufacturers that are NSF certified as they have more stringent quality standards than other third party quality systems audits (I can confirm this from personal experience), and for a facility to keep their certification they have to meet criteria set by NSF, which are higher than what the FDA requires. Now, let's talk about third party testing. My personal opinion as to why contamination happens is because a lot of these startup supplement companies don’t have the budget to afford anyone that’s actually worked in the manufacturing process. Therefore, though they may test with every intention of ensuring quality, they may not be selecting the tests that are most necessary or effective in confirming quality. An example of this is… The FDA at minimum, only requires one type of testing as a part of a release for products. So to save on cost, most manufacturers will only do identity testing to confirm a product’s quality as that is normally the cheapest option. We, as a company, decided to make our manufacturers do additional potency testing on all finished goods to make sure our products meet our label claim, which can be missed by doing identity testing alone. As someone with an actual background in quality control/assurance, I think this allows our company to stand out. It’s really important to me that we do things the right way and I feel we are taking steps towards being a better company everyday. I have a bottle in the refrigerator, and am waiting for guidance.

Does the l carnitine in this product also speed up metabolism and help with weight loss?

From my research, it effects the thyroid function to improve metabolism. Weight loss would depend on the individual’s habits.

Was there a change in the product? The powder in the capsule was brown, is now white with a vinegar smell?

Hi there, First off, let me start by saying that we take QA of our products very seriously. That being said, sometimes capsules may vary in color from bottle to bottle. This mostly occurs when we have to source a new batch of ingredients for our new stock. You likely are comparing one of our older bottles to a bottle we just reordered and put in circulation. However, this is a random occurrence and nothing to worry about. To ensure that this was a random occurrence and not something more serious, we have QA procedures to make sure every bottle we sell meets label claim. For example, before we release any product into the market, our QA Department checks all third party tests and certificates of analysis to make sure our products meet label claim. In addition, we only work with manufacturers that are cGMP compliant. Moreover, our warehouses are run by Amazon, who normally do a pretty good job of storing products. Therefore, you can rest assured that although the capsule varies slightly in color, you are still getting a quality supplement that is as it says on the label.
