I got these peppers after watching tasting history , and had to give them a try. The flavor of these is incredibly deep , sharp but not terrifyingly how , with a complex flavor that reminds me at once of white pepper , smoked paprika and fresh cracked black pepper. It has a lasting , smooth and strong taste that works well with or burgers and steaks , roast chicken, potato soup or southern fried chicken. The price was super and ground fresh they are going to last a while , I have used up 20 or so and the bag is still mostly full. They shipped in 3 days I think and I will definitely reccomend them !

I enjoy this pepper and it has a distintive taste so i use it when I want something a little different.

Yep, trying recipes from the show "Tasting History".Besides trying old Roman dishes...Tasty stuff... long pepper and grains of paradise makes for a tasty omelet. Toss in some turmeric and capers and you'd think you were dining haute cuisine.

Good Product

I heard about this stuff on the Tasting History YouTube channel. It is a little hotter than regular black pepper but much more aromatic. Warning, if you want a fine grind, it will give your grinder a workout. I bought another grinder just for this.

I first heard about long pepper from Tasting History on YouTube and had to try it. It's amazing! Unlike peppercorns, long pepper is really mild and has this intoxicating smoky odor to it. I like that it's whole, because when I grind it up more flavor is released. I've used it in a variety of dishes ranging from Mexican to Indian, modern and ancient recipes.My only negative is that you don't get a whole lot. I wish that we had the option of getting more. It also took a lot longer to ship than I'm used to.

Takes a little time to acclimate to the taste, but you can taste the pure flavor. I don’t know why this pepper fell out of favor.

Delicious, fragrant long pepper. My fiance loves black pepper, I decided to gift this to him after seeing a youtube short about long pepper being used by ancient Romans. Now he only wants long pepper because the flavor is so much more intense and rich. High quality, fresh long pepper and will be back for more.
