Insects!
6/30: the Spiceway were very reasonable and suggested that in the absence of any other reviews with the same problem it could be a local infestation, in other words it came from inside my cupboard, I'm really scouring all other spices etc now but have not found anything so far, but I don't discount their point of view and they did reimburse me.Brown insect about the size of a nigella seed is one of many found in my 8 oz packet from the Spiceway, the return window prevents me returning the packet which was quite expensive as I like to pay for the highest quality (after all it is my health I'm trying to take care of)! Anyway, just be warned, I understand how hard quality control must be, this has been in my herb/supplement cupboard since April, no others have been contaminated so I assume the brown creatures came with the very enjoyable nigella seeds by the number of them in the 8 oz packet. Fortunately I think I only used them in some rice which had to be boiled and then I ordered Gaia black seed oil which I have been taking but find it rough on the stomach sometimes, if not I might have eaten more of the seeds and the accompanying freeloaders. I'll send Spiceway and email to see what they say and update here. I'm itching just writing this review!

Interesting taste
I’ve never had this before and wanted to add it to my smoothies. It has a distinct kinda peppery taste.

Caused Digestive Problems
I tried a small amount for 3 - 4 days but it caused me some digestive problems. I tried contacting the seller but. Never received a response.

Mine is essentially tasteless unless I take 1/3 teaspoon or more
I can't imagine how I'd get a bad batch, but I have a pretty good taste pallet and am getting nothing here from a "large" sprinkle. I begin to get a significant impact at a quarter teaspoon all at once. Then, it's pepper with very little onion aftertaste. This can't be all there is after all the rave reviews. This tastes almost exactly like papaya seeds.
