Hi, thanks for the question(s). The weight is no concern, however the thickness of your spindles is. Our system works for up to 1 1/2’ thick spindle. A typical wood spindle is 1 1/4 thick. I may have some longer bolts, but you’d have to reach us directly so we know who to pack them with! Thanks, Brian

Absolutely. I use mine next to the grill and it often holds many layers of plates, etc. before dinner. Thannks!

Q: What are the brackets made of and what is the finish? Can they be painted white?

I believe they are steel with a powder coat finish. Very nice surface and has held up well out in the weather for me. If you Google painting powder coat finishes, you are able to do it by cleaning and lightly sanding the surfaces and applying the appropriate paint.
