Pre hole punched and very absorbent

This works good. Holds moisture good. Only issue I have is that it falls apart too easy when cutting it into individual pieces. Even with a sharp razor.

I thought I was buying a soft growing medium that I could have my child use as part of a science project, but the material is not meant to be touched by bare hands. When I began to separate the squares I realized my hands were itchy and had shiny bits similar to fiberglass. I do not want this product circulating in our hydroponic tower or touching the lettuce we intend to grow. Google states that it is generally safe, but that installers use gloves when handling rockwool. Please be aware of the item you are purchasing and it’s proper use before spending the money. Also, rockwool does not break down, and is therefore not an environmentally friendly product.

I've never use rock wool before. I read instructions and watched a couple videos. I found these difficult to work with. They split apart and didn't stay intact when I tried using them.
