Great Rug Pad!
Great rug pad! The price was competitive. I got the smallest in thickness. I really liked that the bottom was grippy non-slip material (pictured). Overall, it gave my rug some thickness & helped it not to slide around. Which is exactly what I was looking for. It trimmed up very easily where it went a little past the rug, as well. We'll see how it holds up over time.

Perfect!
I rarely leave reviews, even when I like a product. But this is worth it and hopefully can help others too. This mat is PERFECT under a Ruggable! I got an 8×10 ruggable in excellent condition second hand but could not rationalize spending the money for the branded mat underneath it. After researching, I didn't get much help about alternatives but decided to take a gamble anyway. And I'm so glad I did! This is a fraction of the cost and literally works perfectly. The felt is not soft, its super super grippy and velcro like. The ruggable sticks to it wonderfully and the rubber side is truly nonslip against my hardwood floors. We did have to trim it to size, about an inch on two sides. It does have a significant 'factory' smell right out of the package, but dissipated quickly. It's thick and cushy and feels so nice under foot and for the kids to sit/play on! If you're looking for an alternative to a Ruggable mat to use under and Ruggable top rug, GET THIS ONE!

Great Rug Pad
This rug pad is perfect (using it on top of wall to wall carpeting under another rug) FYI: This is the second one I ordered the first one had a very strong, bad, chemical smell (just as some others had mentioned) I called the company direct and they said there was a bad batch of glue used on some of them and that was causing the smell - they were very nice about returning the defective one and ensuring that the new one would not have the bad smell. The new one has no smell at all and works perfect (If you use this on top of wall to wall carpeting you need to put the rubber side up)

Best rug pad for area rugs on wood floors
This is a very reasonably priced rug pad. It is the third I have purchased. It does slip around a bit, so you’ll want to put grippers on the corners or edges in a high traffic area. But it lays flat under an area rug and provides just a bit of cushion. I prefer this style of rug pad in my wood floors as they let the wood breathe and they don’t leave a residue on the floor. You can easily trim to size.My only complaint is the slippage, but that’s easily remedied.

ABSOLUTE PUTRID ODOR THAT IS SICKENING!
I don't usually write reviews, but as I believe this is a safety issue I felt it was my moral obligation to write it.I ordered several of these Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads during January and February of 2024. The odor is nauseating. I put them outside during the day to air them out but it didn't help at all. The disgusting smell began to increase throughout my house and I couldn't get the odor to go away. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to run into the bathroom feeling light-headed and nauseous. I reported this directly to Mohawk and I was told they recently had a "bad batch," and they believed the odor was most likely caused by contaminated dye that was added to the latex for color. The smell intensified, especially while my heat was on, so I had a service call with an HVAC/Duct company. He explained that the odor from the rug pads was blown throughout my house when the heat was on and then the return vent sucked up the air sending it back to my heating system which then circulated the horrific-smelling air throughout my entire house. He cleaned and deodorized the HVAC system which helped somewhat, but the smell lingers in my furniture, rugs, blankets, etc. I have been washing everything non-stop and have sprayed Febreze everywhere. I looked back through the Amazon reviews about these Mohawk rug pads and I have found many other people complaining about the dreadful stench, and this goes all the way back to 2020. So the reason given to me by Mohawk for the atrocious odor being caused by a "bad batch" that recently occurred is not only unacceptable but complete hogwash.I contacted the EPA as well as filed a complaint with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission about this issue. It is well known that VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, are found in many products, including rug pads, and can lead to poor indoor air quality causing numerous issues including respiratory symptoms. VOCs can be carcinogenic to human beings. I have been nauseated, dizzy, and cannot get this sickening odor out of my house. I have tried using strong mouthwash, chewing peppermint gum, and drinking peppermint tea but I cannot get that horrific smell out of my nose or respiratory tract that has come from these disgusting Mohawk rug pads.I am grateful to Amazon for refunding my money for the four Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads, but I am concerned that nothing was done to resolve the real issue, the safety issue of these rug pads. I recommended to Amazon that they take the rug pads off of their site immediately and I am hopeful that they will. I recontacted Mohawk yesterday, March 18, 2024, via email, sending them the Amazon reviews with odor issues as far back as 2020 and the response I got was, "This was from 2020 and these people might have some kind of "allergy" that make them more sensitive to certain things." They have swept the rug pad odor issue under the rug. No pun intended. I am extremely dissatisfied with Mohawk and will never purchase anything from the company again.
