No guidance for adjustment
I've had a few ultrasonic pest deterrence devices and they often work in different ways. If there is any choice of frequency to target a specific pest (insects, mice, small mammals, etc.), the device usually tells you how to make that adjustment. In this item, there is a dial that changes the sound, but the instructions say to start at one end of the dial and change it once a month until you find the one you want. Huh? It's cool that there is a button that makes the ultrasonic sound audible for humans so you can get an idea what it sounds like to pests, but that actually doesn't help at all.I gave 4 stars because it seems fairly well made and I think it will work despite this unhelpful method of deciding on a frequency. I'll just take a guess and leave it. I have a bunch of other pest deterrants so I'll assume at least one of them will be set correctly.

Mouse still rules the house
We have a mouse parade every night: the old farmhouse is drafty and with winter approaching, the mice are making themselves a little too comfortable. We've tried humane traps, which they figured out where to gnaw to escape, normal snap traps, and those special bucket lids. Although those all caught mice, they weren't doing enough and so we thought this sound emitter would work (poison is off the table with all the pets). Whelp, the mouse parade is still scheduled for tonight, 45 minutes after lights out. They will carry this on the float as their background music. The dogs are a rapt audience that howl with excitement. No one in this house will miss the parade! We worried that the dogs would react to this product, but it seems that no animal does.

T9-S Triple Ultrasonic Repeller: The Ex-Husband's Mouse Battle Buddy!
Alright, folks, gather 'round for a tale of triumph against the tiny terrors known as mice! Enter the T9-S Triple Ultrasonic Repeller, the latest weapon of choice in my ex-husband's ongoing battle against the four-legged fiends infiltrating his abode. Now, I'll be honest – my ex isn't exactly known for his mouse-friendly living situation. It's like his place was a buffet for the furry freeloaders. Desperate times called for desperate measures, so along came the T9-S to save the day (and his sanity). You see, this little device emits ultrasonic waves that are like the Kryptonite to mice, rats, rodents, and even those daredevil squirrels. It's like an audio fortress against the rodent invasion. And guess what? The T9-S isn't playing around. It's a triple threat, folks! Three times the ultrasonic power means three times the rodent-repelling fun.The process was simple. My ex-husband strategically placed these ultrasonic champions throughout his lair, and let me tell you, the results were nothing short of heroic. Slowly but surely, the tiny terrors started packing their bags and seeking refuge elsewhere. It's like the T9-S had them sprinting out of there faster than a contestant on a reality TV show. And can we talk about convenience? The T9-S doesn't make a fuss, no mess, no fuss – just set it, forget it, and let the magic happen. My ex didn't have to lay a finger on those furballs, and the victory was sweet. So, if you've got a mouse (or squirrel, or rodent) problem that needs some serious solving, allow me to introduce you to the T9-S Triple Ultrasonic Repeller. It's like the cavalry riding in to save the day, minus the horses and with a lot more high-frequency sound waves. The pests won't know what hit 'em, and you'll be free to enjoy a critter-free zone once and for all.

Ultrasonic repellent for insects and small rodents.
The media could not be loaded. I got this ultrasonic repellent mainly to deter animals that eat plants and dig up soil from flower pots. I wanted it to guard the front porch and backyard. After getting the device, I realized it was small in size and needed an electrical outlet to use. Moreover, it was meant for insects and small rodents such as mice and squirrels. The device emits ultrasonic sound waves in 20 to 60 KHz range. It has a knob at the back to adjust the frequency. A test button will make audible sound. In the front there are two indicator lights for power and ultrasonic on conditions. As I primarily use the device outdoors, in order to plug its electrical transformer, I had to remove the cover on electrical outlets. I hope this device would deter squirrels, groundhogs and other rodents if not rabbits and deers. In my opinion this device is more suitable to deter mice inside the house in specific areas such as garage, attic, basement, etc.

Seems to work. Time will tell how effective it is.
I installed this in a friends house that had mice in the kitchen almost every week. In four weeks she has not seen a single mouse or evidence of one. I tweaked the frequency on the back where it was recommended for mice, and only time will tell how long it keeps them away. I have heard of these and even bought several years ago that are small, that you plug into an outlet. I had mixed results back then, and decided they didn't work very well. That was years ago. This one seems like the electronics are a little more sophisticated.I will update this review in another month or so and let you know if this continues to keep the mice away from her kitchen.

Does not work
To test this I placed it on my front porch near a bird feeder that squirrels love on the max frequency. The squirrels acted as if nothing was amiss and continued eating.

Don't bother
I purchased this Ultrasonic critter repeller for a friend of mine who lived in NYC to deter a family of mice that has recently moved in. It's not working. My friend has been changing the frequency on the back thinking it was that to no avail. Yes, it is easy to set up, but if it doesn't work it's just another piece of junk in an already small NYC apartment.I don't recommend this device.
