This book is full of information for anyone from novice to skilled. I found all I was looking for and more. It’s easy to follow the instructions given and the illustrations are clear. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it highly.

Wow! This is my new go-to reference book. It covers embroidery and insertion stitches, smocking, drawn thread and pulled stitches, canvas work, counted thread and freestyle techniques. I highly recommend this book!

I like to design small needlepoint projects and an important part of the design is texture of the stitches. This book was recommended to me to me as an excellent source of "how to" for embroidery stitches. It is that but I was delighted to find that the arrangement is by type of stitch (line stitches, crossed stitches, drawn thread stitches, etc) with a complete section devoted to Stitches for Canvas. Each stitch is accompanied by clear color photographs showing one or more applications of the stitch, line drawings numbering the in and out of the needle and precise written directions. There are also footnotes on alternative names, uses for the stitch (suitable for border, filling stitch, used for blackwork, etc) and notes regarding type of fabric, thread, needle or other useful information regarding a particular stitch. Perfect for the independent needlework student.

Great reference for stitches but some pages are blurred so I took a star off. I should send it back for a replacement but the cost of shipping would be high.

I am new to embroidery so this book is my go-to reference.

I have had very limited exposure to needle crafts, being raised in an "off-the-rack" environment regarding clothing and textiles. This book is amazing! Really easy to follow illustrated insrtuctions and jam-packed with beautiful photos!

Contains more stitches with methods than my poor little brain can cope with! So this does exactly what it says on the cover. It you want to embroider this is a very good book to get. I wanted a good guide to the art and I got it. Fine for beginners too which is lucky as that’s what I am.
