I’ve been using this Valerian Root supplement for a few weeks, mainly to help improve my sleep and calm myself down. Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised. I take it 3 times a day and it’s working very well! I tend to fall asleep a little faster at night and don’t wake up during the night. It’s not a knockout pill, but it definitely takes the “edge” off on nights when my mind won’t slow down. The capsules are easy to swallow, and there’s no strong aftertaste (valerian can smell a bit earthy, but that’s normal for the herb). I also haven’t noticed any side effects. Highly recommend!

Knocks me out for hours

I have been buying this brand for over two years. Previous bottles had no smell to them, it appears the manufacturer listened to those that complained it didn’t have a pungent smell. Now the bottles smell like a bag of manure even if you let the capsules sit out for a few days. The smell is awful The product works if you can get by the smell usually within 15 minutes I am getting drowsy. . I will still recommend this product but wish they would go back to the non-bag of manure smell.

I was surprised to experience a mild calming effect from day one, mixed with an increase in mental energy! The calming effect seemed to decline after one or two weeks. I thought the whole thing was my imagination, until I found out that valerenic acid, the main sedative component, is highly volatile and degrades upon air exposure. So I am ordering a little airtight "minivac" to keep the next batch fresh. I cannot guarantee the above, because I found out through AI ! Scholar GPT told me, and the whole thing could be placebo, but it makes a lot of sense.

If you have a sensitive stomach be careful. This did not settle well with my stomach and I was unable to take this. I tried about 3 days, once I stopped, my stomach was fine.
