convenient, tasty, fresh, lasts long time in cupboard, good as is or add other goodies to it
Love keeping Annie Chun products in my pantry. Convenient, shelf stable food that makes for a quick lunch or dinner. Easy to prepare, good flavor. Not always my go-to for food of this type, but sometimes I dont want to make a lot or I dont want to be bothered with all the prep. I just want the taste and texture when I want it.I love that everything is separately packaged. This really helps to keep it fresh and very long lasting in the cupboard. Well beyond any "best by" date. Noodles are vac packed, seasoning and sauce in their own packets, then all tucked into a sturdy bowl.Sometimes I eat it as is, sometimes I add in other goodies (veg or protein, usually some sort of left over in fridge), sometimes a little extra seasoning (or even a little added peanut butter or peanut butter powder). Totally good prepared as is, but it also works when used as a base if you have things you want to bulk it up or change the flavor a little. Nice crunchy chili oil works very nicely for turning it into spicy peanut noodles!

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! Would get again and WHY.....
OK, I don't eat meat, but I do eat eggs, cheese occasionally, rarely seafood. I'm always looking for something I can nuke for lunch or dinner that tastes good, not high in fat or calories. I get tired of the same old, same old.I had Annie's micro brown rice before and liked it, thought I would give this a try. Here's all about my experience:TASTE - I thought it was VERY tasty. On the front of the outside packaging, it shows it having a heat/spicy index right between mild and medium. I would hate to see what they call HOT! I have had hotter/spicier, but I would AT LEAST consider this between medium and hot. Cleared my sinuses. LOVED THE FLAVOR MIXTURES and it was actually better than I have had in some restaurants and tasted fresh.PACKAGING/COOKING CONVENIENCE - JUST follow the directions carefully. Just a few steps, but important to follow re how to prep, easy though. Cooks in 90 secs and I let it sit about a minute. You do need to really stir to mix in all ingredients evenly.QUANTITY - For ME, it was a nice little lunch. If you're used to having a LOT of food for lunch, you might want two. ONE was plenty for me and FILLING.COST - OK was on sale, but I would pay regular price. Quality and quantity, plus having something DIFFERENT, well worth it to me.BOTTOMLINE: You don't know til you try it, but it you're a fan a fairly spicy Asian food, I don't think you'll be disappointed. ESPECIALLY at this price point. We don't have many great Asian restaurants in town and this really hit the spot!

New product has less fat, less salt, less flavor, and more sugar.
In the past, I would have given this product a 5-star rating, but now that the product has changed, I can only give it a 3-star rating. The changed products can be identified by a solid red and white circle in the lower left of the front packaging, stating that the product "Now TASTES EVEN BETTER!". For me, that is certainly not the case. Both the old and new product contain packets containing noodles, sauce, toppings, and peanuts. The noodles and the peanuts are largely unchanged, but the sauce and toppings are quite different. The old product came with 51 g of a deeply flavorful sauce; the new has 39 g of a much less flavorful sauce that is too sweet for my taste. The new sauce coats the noodles thinly, while in the old product the sauce was quite abundant after mixing the noodles and sauce, and has more presence in the mouth. Particularly noticeable to me is the disappearance of the strong lime tanginess of the old product. On the nutrition panel, sugar has gone up from 17 g in a 239 g serving (7.11% of serving weight), to 21 g in a 231 g serving (9.09% of serving weight). Overall carbohydrate content has gone down, from 86 g to 80 g, and overall protein has gone down, from 16 g to 14 g. Sodium has been lowered from 1000 mg to 750 mg. The old product had 500 calories with 110 of those from fat; the new product has 470 calories with 90 of those from fat.The bottom line is that the new product has less fat, less salt, less flavor, and more sugar. What was a great product that quickly won me over when I first tried it, has become an uninteresting mix that would have kept me looking for something better.

CHEAPER than just the noodles
Very flavorful and larger than ones at store. Easy to make. I add more dried veggies, crushed peanuts, and sauce. Why don't I just make it from scratch? These bowls are CHEAPER than just the round Hokkien noodles. I greatly enjoy the final product and ease. Same price for smaller Teriyaki flavor. I buy a pack of 6 every month. I might start buying two. I think most negative reviewers added too much water. Just four tablespoons.

Embarassing to put Korean-style for these sweet chili noodles, terrible and too much sugar
Very bad even for instant food. Better off with actual instant korean noodles from nongshim, they taste better, bigger portion, and little/no sugar compared to the 19g in one of these. I don't think you should eat this even if someone paid you.Edit 2/5 after realizing user-error: I didn't make these properly and with apologies to the company, will note that for prospective customers, read very carefully. Do not automatically fill up to the line like with most other products, if you are microwaving--which I would recommend to avoid the pain of draining the water awkwardly with the weak plastic lid--you only need 1/4 cup of water. Also, it's very important to put the flakes into the bowl first, so the water gets there instead of dropping them on top of the noodles where they'll stay hard, dehydrated flakes. After having made them properly, they are pretty good and very quick to make. Having said that, I still think 19g of sugar is way too much and not necessary to have this taste good but I won't take a star off as that's my own fault for not checking before purchase.
