My First Hardware Synth
I've been a VST addict for years. I own a ridiculous number of virtual instruments, and I've tried a lot of software synthesizers, but I slowly realized I never used most of these tools to their full potential.I decided to get into hardware because I was constantly distracted by notifications and all the capabilities of a computer. With this synth, I found myself easily creating patches because I can give my full attention to the synth. The sound quality easily beats a lot of the software synths out there. To me, this synth sounds like Massive X - something contemporary and versatile. I've begun using it for almost everything except bass. (I prefer the clarity of Serum or Omnisphere)It's an awesome instrument that has improved my creativity and workflow.

Surprisingly great synthesizer!
I’m very glad I took a risk and bought this synth. The promotional videos I saw (and heard) really did not give me any idea what this thing sounds like, but I wanted a poly synth, and what did sell me on risking a purchase was the technical info about the synth - FPGA based, no aliasing due to rediculously high sample rate & unique oscillator technology. The kinds of sounds you can get out of it are very nice, and the mod matrix is quite powerful - why they hid the most powerful feature under menus I don’t know though, it should have been done with knobs. Regardless, it’s very powerful. I really wish it had three LFOs though, that would be a major improvement in terms of creation of “evolutionary” sounds that change over time. [edit: in a firmware update a while after I wrote this, they expanded the number of LFOs to four and added many features to make Peak even more powerful] The lack of aliasing when playing high notes makes this a much more organic experience than most other digital synths I’ve worked with. The supersaw effects are surprisingly great, putting, for example the mininova (by the same manufacturer) to shame.

great stand
Fantastic stand! I thought it would be a little more basic and made of plastic (because I didn't read the details when I ordered it) - but no, it is metal and has heft and strength. I love how you can use the stand 2 different ways depending if you like a slight verticality or a darn near upright.

But what about the wooden side-panels?!
This got me excited and disappointed at the same time.Excited because it is really high quality like you would expect from Novation. The brackets are actually made of metal (I thought it would be plastic) and have a durable feel and the angle at which it props up the Peak is ergonomically perfect.But. There is always a but.I guess I should have known but in order to install these brackets you will have to remove the wooden side-panels. That is so sad! I love the wooden side panels and their look! When you remove the wooden side panels to install these, the edges of the synth will have like a matt black metallic finish instead. It just feels different to me.I like the angle. I miss the wooden look. I may reconsider this. I may look for another way to prop up the synth. If you love the wooden side panels, think twice about this. If you don't care about that, go for it.

Dual mounting angles and perfect fit
As expected a perfect fit for their own product. Assembled/mounted with ease.

Hope the unit’s ok
Ordered this from the Amazon.com store and the box came almost completely destroyed. Not sure if this happened during transit or it left the warehouse like this, but hopefully nothing’s wrong with the Peak.Edit: initiated a return because the filter knob seems loose and has a noticeable “click” when turning the knob counter-clockwise

Not a fun item but worthwhile
Makes it much easier to use and simplifies cable management.
