Expiration dates
Ordered 11/17/24Delivered 11/20/24Expires 12/03/24Was trying to make holiday shopping easier this year, but Amazon needs to pull dates like this. Give me the minimum of one year to use it. Usually it’s 2-4 years on most bottles. The herb and brand itself isn’t the problem as it’s a great herb to keep in your kitchen. It’s the warehouse storing that’s an issue.

I've been waiting for this!
I have no source of Thai basil in my little town, and my family loves Thai food. Until this product became available, I had to drive to another city to purchase Thai basil. Thai basil is critical for the right flavor profile, and regular basil just doesn't cut it. Nothing beats fresh Thai basil, but this does the trick in a pinch.

Good Quality But Flavor Not What I Expected
I used to grow Thai basil so I was really excited to find the dried herb. This IS Thai basil; however I can see why others believe it’s not. I think there are some notable differences in the flavor profile.▪️QUALITY: looks to be excellent — the leaves aren’t brown and dull but a dark, rich green.▪️SCENT: herbal; not particularly strong▪️TASTE: like green tea + hint of black tea; savory & earthy; slight anise/licorice aftertaste which IS typical for Thai basil; barely there slightly minty aftertaste if you try it alone. The Thai basil I’ve had/grown usually has a bright, sweet and minty quality to it. This one reminds me more of tea leaves — it’s earthy and lacks brightness.▪️PACKAGING: points for reusable glass bottle! After you’re finished with the bottle, you can add your own seasoning mix 🙂.

Wonderful Aroma, Great Taste!
Arrived in perfect condition. Upon opening the jar you can smell the basil right away. Not as strong as fresh but nice. Used it in a beef stew and red sauce for spaghetti squash. They were both terrific, this basil made a very nice, but subtle difference in the taste. We loved it!

McCormick Gourmet Thai Basil
I thought the price of the item too much.

Cilantro tastes like soap
Excellent to those of us who only taste soap when Cilantro is in the food. I know, I sent dishes back only to find out it is a thing for some of us.

If I could give zero stars, I would!
There are multiple problems with this "McCormick Gourmet All Natural Thai Basil". Unfortunately, it is not returnable. 1) When I removed the cap for the first time, the seal was stuck to the bottom of the lid, not the top of the glass bottle. There was absolutely no adhesive around the seal for the bottle to stick to. 2) When I looked at the dried leaves, the color was dark gray, not any shade of green. 3) When I smelled the leaves, they had no aroma at all. 4) When I tasted the leaves, they were a faint flavor of non-distinct dry vegetation. (My McCormick dried sweet basil still is rich in aroma and flavor despite being more than a year after I bought it.) I'm not even convinced that the "leaves" are any spice at all. If the Seller will refund my purchase price, I will happily remove this review.

Not as good as fresh, but convenience is hard to beat. Dried
Fresh thai basil is always the best. But in a pinch or when we can't find fresh thai basil, this dried is a great alternative and helps make our panang curry dishes.
