Keeps the deer out, cuts well and the coating is tough
We've got deer, deer and more deer around here and last fall they ate stuff they've never touched before. This year we're trying to protect the smaller shrubs and plants and we didn't want obvious cages. This black wire mesh is almost impossible to see from a few feet away so you don't get a yard full of metal looking adornments. It cuts with metal shears or a sawzall just fine. I've got to say the coating on this is well applied and didn't fake off while bending it. I made mostly 24 inch tall wire cages with this and used zip ties to close it up. That way I can later add them into different sizes for next year. 25 feet was a good length for the number of plants we're trying to protect. Overall: This is a good, well made hardware cloth that I think will hold up well.

Great chicken coup fencing!
Loved this wire for my chicken coup! Easy to cut & work with! Wrapped the bottom of coup & roam area & it allows my young chicks to safely enjoy their area.

asy to work with.
Not heavy duty, but we used it to protect plants from marauding chickens. Has a plastic coating. Easy to work ends. For a long stretch, or bigger animals or destructive children, use a thicker gauge,

Good value for starling deterrent - possibly a bit thin to really be 16 gauge
We've always had a few Eastern Starlings show up at our bird feeders to gorge themselves, but this year they were coming in droves and threatened to bankrupt me with bird seed--plus they tend to frighten off a lot of the smaller birds. Starling-proof feeders all seemed to come with 1.5-inch square hardware cloth as a barrier to keep the flying piggies at bay, but buying one good pre-designed feeder cost as much as this whole roll of fencing, so I decided to try the do-it-myself approach. All in all, I'm happy with the product. The wire arrived in good condition, and it's thin enough to be easy to manipulate. (See below for further comment on the thickness.) I was able to quickly build a prototype cage for our seed-pillar-holding feeder as a trial run. The finches, chickadees, titmice, and even downy woodpeckers all quickly found that they could enter the holes to get to the food. Hairy and red-bellied woodpeckers can easily reach their heads far enough in to grab a snack, too. The same is true for more enterprising starlings, but even they can't gorge themselves like they used to, and the big flocks seem to have moved on to easier pickings. As for the "16 gauge" claim on this wire: A quick Internet search shows that bare 16 gauge wire is 1.291mm diameter or 1.57mm in galvanized wire. A few checks with my micrometer showed this wire to be anywhere from 1.44mm to 1.64mm diameter. Considering this product supposedly is both galvanized and plastic dipped, if the bare wire is proper thickness, the coatings are pretty darned thin, which raises some questions in my mind about durability. Luckily, given the size of the roll, I'll have lots of spare wire to rebuild my bird baffles if necessary.

Works Great on Raised Beds
High enough to keep the rabbits out of our raised beds and unlike chicken wire it's easy to work with.

Junk product!!!
If you want any kind of sturdy wire or anything that will last more than a couple weeks, do not buy this garbage! They claim this is 16 gauge wire I highly doubt that it appears that mean nothing more than a cheaply coated chicken netting! With many pieces of the squares already broke or missing the coating all together! Unfortunately as soon as I opened it it started to unwind, so I have no clue how I would package it up to return this garbage or it would be going back! And they had the nerve to charge $40 for this. Do not buy this product save your money and just buy some cheap chicken wire cuz that is all you are getting when you buy this! Absolute junk! And also the seller was no help at all I give them zero Stars if I could.

Rabbit proof your fence with this!
I have a black metal fence that the voracious urban rabbits in my neighborhood climbed right through. I used this black wire and about a gazillion black zip ties to rabbit proof my yard. It “disappears” nicely on the black fence. A little spendy, but I highly recommend.

Using it for a quail cage, made the cage so the 24" cloth would fit perfectly, it didn't, I measured it and it's only 23.5 inches wide. Also there was 5 large holes/rips whatever you'd call it along the length too, so I had to cut out sections and short on material now and need to add supports since I have to run it a different way. Just wanted to give a heads up in case you need exactly 24" like I did.
