Temtop M10 Air Quality Monitor Indoor Tester AQI PM2.5 HCHO Home Air Quality Monitor with Formaldehyde Detector

We bought one of these two years ago when smoke from fires in Oregon were creating Armageddon skies in the SF Bay Area. It was very helpful in letting us know our air purifiers were keeping indoor AQI at acceptable levels. Over time we also discovered its value even in non-wildfire season: after seeing what happened to indoor AQI when cooking, we began to use our range hood religiously!We bought a second one for our place up in the Sierras, which also has been impacted by wildfires. By comparing its indoor readings against Purple Air outdoor monitors, we could tell once again how well our air purifiers were functioning. The Temtop helped guided us on how best to place the purifiers for maximum benefit. We also found after placing it outside that its readings correlate very well with data available from public sources or the Purple Air website.This is a great gadget that I recommend highly!

Canadian smoke blanketing the area suddenly made us concerned about AQI. We have a Wyze air purifier with an LED readout that continuously displays the AQI. This meter set nearby gives the same AQI reading, plus or minus a few points. If you want to use it continuously, even in battery-saving modes, you may find it inconvenient to have to keep plugging it in to a regular USB adapter. I use an extra old style for an iPhone and that works fine. I will leave it plugged in continuously if I find it too annoying to plug it in every few days. For this price, it seems like a no-brainer. But you may not like knowing that your indoor air quality is not as great as you always thought. If that's the case, I recommend building a Corsi-Rosenthal box (Google it). We have one in our basement and the AQ there as measured by this meter is always in single digits.

I like the easy to read display and it seems pretty accurate. I had to reduce a star because the battery life is pretty short. You have to keep it plugged in if you want it constantly displaying. Having it around during the smoke from the fires has been great information. I have HEPA filters in my house and my indoors is MUCH better than outside according to this monitor and I can certainly tell when I walk outside.

I really love this monitor. I can only assume it's accurate since the numbers do change when the monitor encounters air pollution. I live next to someone who burns a woodstove regularly and I wanted to know how much that was impacting my air quality, both inside and outside. Placed the monitor outside, the PM2.5 skyrockets when their chimney starts to smoke. It comes back down when they aren't burning. It also gives me an idea how much smoke is coming in my house which I needed for peace of mind. We can smell smoke in our house some and now I know that the particulate matter inside is not very high compared to outside. I love that you can unplug it and stick it in spots momentarily to get readings. It also revealed higher formaldehyde numbers after spraying Febreeze that says "no formaldehyde". Aha! Truth is out. Great little monitor, highly recommend!

My tem top checks effectiveness and helps me to optimally use my air purifiers. It tells me which cooking methods are affecting air quality and how quickly they clear. I have 3 I use in different rooms

The media could not be loaded. Device stopped working after one week of use, battery doesn’t charge, and now it doesn’t work plugged in either. Stopped working right after Amazon return window closed. Would like to exchange for new unit, but unable to because of Amazon limitations. Do not buy.

Not sure how to rate . Very impressive shipping/packaging, and is a sleek, easy to use unit. Measures 4 things...........Total VOC's with a "sub-measurement" of formaldehyde, as well as air quality and pm 2.5. Easy to read. Can't judge accuracy....would need other detectors to compare. Most of the time, the readings are steady with minor fluctuations, but occasionally a reading will shoot up (for no apparent reason), and then "change it's mind and calm back down"! Because of that, we're not sure if we have any TVOC concerns or not? You will get a response if you email a question......at least there is someone available.Biggest disappointment is how long the unit stays charged............4-5 hours and it needs to be plugged back in. No other bells or whistles (understandable for this price) ....doesn't record readings, and is NOT a CO detector.Can't complain for the price......if the readings are accurate.

I used it intermittently at first, but then frequently had it plugged in and moved to where I slept during the summer to deal with forest fire smoke. It really took a lot of anxiety off of my shoulders as I have a heart disease and dealing with heavy air pollutants can seriously cause health problems for me.It’s even shown me (very accurately) when I need to turn on the bathroom fan or crack a window after cooking indoors in the winter.I appreciate this little device and I am very happy that I purchased it. It was well packaged in a nice box when it arrived, much to my surprise. Very pleased with this and would 100% buy it again if I needed to.
