If you're going to froth milk you need this -- or one like it

I had previously attempted to froth milk without a thermometer and had mediocre success. I wasn't able to tell what the temperature of the milk and foam was. I was just judging based on the time and appearance of the foam and was constantly overheating the milk but was not aware that I was overheating. I bought this thermometer and the on the first steam I saw improvement. I then realized how badly I was overheating the milk. The little metal bracket is essential as it clip to the side of the pitcher. I can place the thermometer on the rim of the pitcher and adjust the height so the tip is just off the bottom of the pitcher. TL;DR..I was overheating my milk and didn't know it. A thermometer makes for quicker and more consistent steamed milk.

The material is stainless steel and works very well, but if you are not a frequent cook, I recommend that you do not buy it since its use is very infrequent.

I use it everyday to make lattes for my friend and myself. The first one lasted months and months and then stopped working. I just ordered this same one and I am happy getting my coffee at the right temperature.

Great to use with a froth pitcher when making milk for coffee. It's very easy to use and clip on, allows to move around the pitcher when frothing. The temperature is accurate as well.

Broke after 4 months of normal use, the needle inside became loose.
