Could I put this on a timer so it turns on at a certain time of day?

I don't think so because of the way the ON/OFF button works. When you unplug the device it turns off and when you plug it back in, it doesn't stay turned on the way a lighting fixture does.

Does this have to be plugged in to use or is it battery operated?

It has to be plugged in. So well worth it to have a nice warm towel after the bath, shower or even the pool.

How high does the temp get? (What is the degree for the machine?)

It doesn't say it just has a timer.

Would this be good for baby swaddle blankets?

I’m not sure since it was bought for a wedding gift but I can’t imagine it not working for blankets too! I wish I had thought of that! Great idea!
