It’s nothing great by any means. It gets warm, it won’t really toast your marshmallows the way a fire would. It does make them melty enough to go in a s’more. However, only one person at a time can roast because the actual warming area is just too small. It’s easy to use. We don’t plan to use the trays so not sure how they work. We are using it inside so we just put the crackers and chocolate on a plate. I don’t want any mishaps with the metal while someone reaches for chocolate. Also, the forks it comes with are a joke. Like I said, I don’t want any kids hand that close to the hot metal plate. We have a real fire pit with telescoping forks so we used those for this. The kids had fun. I was iffy on if the kids would use it again but My son asked to keep it. It is less work than the wood burning firepit.

I bought this for 4th July - it is amazing, I feel it creates a better gooey marshmallow than a fire as I can control the brownness of the marshmallows - I feel it's faster than using a flame and is so much fun to use the metal sticks provided, you could use a longer skewer but I feel this length is just perfect.I was not sure if I should purchase this due to the few bad reviews but I am so happy I did, it actually sits on top of the joined trays that you snap together and pull the cord down through the middle, looks so pretty! since it sits on top of the trays, it sits sung and they don't get hot, I highly recommend this!

It takes a few minutes to warm up but that is to be expected. After a couple of marshmallows I found the sweet spot and got the timing figured out. Nice toasty brown outside, gooey, creamy, warm inside... campfire goodness without smoke and bugs 😋

Got this for my mil and now she can sit at the kitchen table and make her own s’mores. She is to old and weak to go camping but loves s’more so this was a big win
