Now that summer is here, bugs will be all over IP camera lenses unless you use a separate IR light source. I've been using the old version of this to eliminate that problem as well as the glowing eyes. The only problem with the old model was the spotlight effect, too bright in the middle, too dim outside of it. The new lens spreads the light out more evenly and eliminates that problem. Works well.

Initially there was no difference in the camera visibility when the IR Illuminator was plugged in or unplugged next to a camera I had that had a broken IR Illuminator built into it. It turns out that the IR circuitry in the camera was bad. If the circuitry is bad then buying an IR Illuminator will NOT solve the problem. I tested this buy putting the IR Illuminator next to a different camera I had that worked fine. I could see the IR Illuminator "beam" just fine when using it with a fully functional camera that had a working built in IR Illuminator.

Using as additional ir for my backyard cam. Works well.

I didn't expect it to "throw" so much light for its small design with just 4 LEDs. The light is invisible when regular lights are on. But, after turning off the incandescent outside light, this IR light illuminates the area for the CCTV/security cameras. I have larger IR floodlights (including the one that this replaced) and they are comparable. The others had many LEDs and larger housing. These don't draw much attention and work! Most won't be aware they are shining on them.

Too many of the people selling these don't understand that the lenses are what effects the amount of light put out.The bulbs are great, but the removable lenses are frosted on this unit. This cuts the range in half, defusing the light too much.They claim, and show pictures of these lighting up things 60 feet away, when in fact, they barely light up objects20 feet away. If I hadn't had the lenses off my broken one, I would have had to return these......This is just not this seller, but most all of the ones selling IR lights for security cameras on Amazon and ebay.P.S. The ones to really avoid are the multi bulb, (48) or more. A good 4 bulb one with clear magnifying lenses is much better.And, you can't tell what you will get, because the claims of their output are mostly bogus. (The Chinese don't care)

Before my 12v adaptor arrived, i was worried i would need to either learn to connect it to this light with wiring know-how. The second cord that comes with it, and plugs into the cord, which is built into the light, has loose red & black wires on the end. Panic set in... But, when my adaptor got here, i saw all i had to do was lose that extension cord with open wiring, and plug the adaptor directly into the attached cord, and VOILA! Working infrareds! Works perfectly for my purposes (low-light photog). If you need to extend this light OR you’re using an adaptor with a different coupling, the extension cord will need to be wired to the adaptor. If not, you’re great to go with this light! Very pleased!

This does not work with Blink Mini if you are using the Blink through a window. This will provide decent IR lighting but the Blink will not turn its own IR off and glares against the window. The Wyze Cam has the ability to work in night mode and turn its own IRs off. This is my primary IR lighting for my Wyze and I love it. The red glow is slightly visible, however it is extremely bright to my camera.

I bought 2 of these units awhile back, hooked both of them up and to my surprise... they only work out to about 6-8 feet.. So much for their specs saying it would work up to 100 feet... Hahahaha DON'T BUY THESE UNITS!! THEY ARE JUNK!!

Perfetto. I LED della telecamera non illuminavano affatto i 5 m come indicato in data sheet (vano scale ampio ?) e si riflettevano sui muri. Non si vedeva nulla di notte. Con illuminatore visione perfetta !!! piccolo, carino, potente. Unico suggerimento: dare possibilità di comprare alimentatore abbinato all'illuminatore

Funziona molto bene , è chiaro che in base all'assorbimento del faretto non si può pretendere che punti molto lontano, ma sui 20/30 m. è ottimo...!
