I've been taking vitamin D3 for years, as it was prescribed many years ago to combat a low D3 blood level. I've never had a problem since. And now, it seems D3 is a particularly good immune system booster, and I have raised my daily intake to 5,000 to 10,00 international units a day. This product supplies enough for 2 months, and is reasonably enough priced.

I live in Southwest Florida primarily because you can pursue outside activites 12 months of the year. It sure beats ice fishing in Wisconsin during the winter months. Especially since my father believed in going "commando" while on the ice. That's not what you think it means, it is simply a slang term for sitting on a chair by your tip-up without any shelter -- unlike everyone else who towed a shanty onto the ice with all the appropriate conveniences and accoutrements. In Florida getting lots of sunshine without burning was a great way to stay active regardless of the outside activity pursued. That is, until the first melanoma came to visit, quickly followed by another one and then a squamish cell. So now I use UPF 50+ on my exposed skin complemented by the proper protected hats, shirts, pants, and sunglasses. The main problem with all that protection is that it blocks the sunshine that provided me with good doses of vitamin D. In addition I am allergic to dairy products, another D contributor. When Covid came around my wife (APRN) and several other healthcare professionals heartily suggested extra doses of vitamin D and zinc to help build your immune system. That required me to find D supplements in pill form in order to ensure getting the recommended daily dosage. Of course vitamin D has always been associated with healthy bones/teeth and improving lung function. Since I have had lung cancer once and also have scarring from bronchitis/pneumonia, D provides an extra benefit in that area too. It also allegedly improves your heart health. I'm sorry about being so long-winded but potential buyers of vitamin D should know as much as they can when purchasing this supplement. As a precaution you should always consult your healthcare professional to determine if taking it is appropriate for you. At the very least it is reasonably priced and follows the hippocratic oath of "do no harm".
