Grub screwsWe have two identical chrome metal hooks on many of the door insides in our bedrooms and bathroom. These weren’t too cheap nor that stylish but at least very practical. To my horror the grub screw of one of these got loose and probably disappeared when the cleaning lady did a thorough job.It’s not the most obvious type of screw to replace. But luckily a wide selection of replacements was available on Amazon in different quantities. As I didn’t want to bother with measuring the correct size I ordered this mixed bag that was cheap, while I assumed it would contain a grub screw with my desired width. It did indeed. But I should have done a precise measuring job as other than I expected these grub screw also vary in length.. my replacement now sticks out by a couple of mm. And each size in the bag is of the same length. Not a big deal and I’ll be the only one to notice within the family. But still.. I’m a bit disappointed again in my own impatience. Yet the job is effectively done.It’s a good selection of grub screws for a fair price. And I have no doubt some of the others I now have will come in handy at some stage.

This pack of 40 mixed will keep me going, probably forever given how many I have used in the past!They are good quality grub screws, perfect for my needs, my lock is now securely replaced in the door handle. At £3.99 that's just about 10p per grub screw which seems to be pretty good value for money.

It’s a screw with the word grub put in front of it and I don’t know why ? It does the job and is made by pixies with tiny tiny fingers as the product is so small as to be impossible for normal sized human hands to have made these miniature marvels of the fastener world . !

Lack of a grub screw is enough to halt a project. They're usually essential. I needed a couple to tighten some loose interior door handles. There is a good range of sizes and I found exactly what I needed for the job. The only size missing is M2 which is used for monobloc tap handles. I've ordered those separately so I have a complete set.
