Meets MB requirements
Who knows if the oil is good or bad? I assume it does what it is supposed to do. Described to meet applicable standards so I believe it is acceptable for my MB. The only way to know if it is better or not so good would be to have several vehicles testing the oil for hundreds of thousands of miles.

V.W T.D.I approved 50400/50700
It's V.W T.D.I approved 50400/50700 low ash oil. It's affordable, especially if you get the three pack. My last 4 oil changes have been with this oil. So far it seems as good as any other I have used. If I was taking it to the dealer for oil changes I could have easily spent 500 bucks even with sales and coupons. Plus I don't have to wait for my car to be returned to me or come back the next day to pick it up. If your handy at all D.I.Y. Look on YouTube for a good walk through and help resetting the oil change interval and service lights. No V.C.D.S, V.A.G-Com required.

Be careful to order the correct oil
The quart bottles of 5W-30 European full synthetic oil are not the same as what is in the 5-quart jugs. I confirmed this by speaking to tech support at Valvoline. The big jugs are the XL-III variant, which is compliant with the VW 507 standard and can be used in TDI engines with Diesel Particulate Filter systems. The quarts are only rated to the 505 standard and are for the older TDI that predates the DPF. If you damage the DPF, the repair bill is currently about $9k, so it's worth getting the correct stuff. I caught this by reading the spec's on the quart bottle before opening it. The quart does not comply with the 507 standard.
