Not a technical audio person but for the amount of money you spend on these - I expected more . You want to hear an amazing sound? Seek out the Noble Focus Rex5- amazing quality half the price . Ordered a DAC to improve it but well worth the $599. And the ANC is excellent - not Bose excellent but sufficient. Ok that is connected to a simple iPhone. But connect this to a FIIO DAc/amp and amazing . These need power and sound great with it. Bright and bodied. Thank god I got the DAC today else I would have returned them. Worth it. Just an iPhone? Get the foKus. But then upgrade with the Fiio dac/amp brings the techs alive

What more can I say? I’m totally blown-away with these IEM’s. Paired with my FiiO M17 via the 2.5mm balanced connector, I’m in heaven. I have some great IEM’s, including the amazing Sennheiser IE800’s. These Technics’ are a slightly more ‘fun’ alternative to the Senny’s, which sound more analytical in comparison. Highly, highly recommended!

These are expensive but I think they are outstanding performers. By way of comparison, I own and have used the Klipsch x20i ($549 in 2016) for about 8 years now. I love them. They are very warm sounding but have detail I hadn't before heard from small form factor earbuds. They are romantic sounding, if you will. At some point I bought the AKG K3003i ($1000 in 2015) but had to return them. They were so bright that I found them unlistenable. I couldn't give up the comfortable yet detailed Klipsch sound so I returned the AKG earbuds. Fast forward to 2024 and Amazon has these Technics earbuds for a good deal so I decide to try them. They really are an upgrade from the Klipsch I love. The Technics are far less colored, but still natural to my ears without excessive brightness. This is especially noticeable on cymbals, high hats, and snare drum sounds. They are far more accurate in tone through the Technics. The Technics earbuds peel numerous layers of warmth that the Klipsch impose and details appear more out of thin air and instruments and vocals have more space between them whereas the Klipsch presents the music in a thicker more combined manner. I tested the Technics with an iPhone and an aftermarket usb-c dac purchased on Amazon (Linsoul DD TC35B) that is itself revealing. Fortunately, the Technics earbuds sounded great in this setup. My preference is when music is reproduced with natural warmth and body and isn't unnaturally bright. The Technics earbuds manage to be revealing, refined, and natural sounding headphone. UPDATE: 6+ months later I love these headphones even more. I imagine they broke in a bit and thus sound a bit smoother. My previous Klipsch earbuds now sound much less enjoyable to me. I have no regrets with the Technics purchase.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These are fabulous for opera. I drive them with either the Apple dongle on a iPhone 16 pro max or a chord mojo 2. The vocals are very neutral and realistic. Highly refined and resolving. Every syllable can be heard clearly and coloratura passages are crystal clear. Baritone voices are much more realistic, those unrealistic deep booming components from some headphones are no longer there, replaced by the actual voice. Dimitri Hvorotovsky on some headphones sounded more like Basso profundo but with the tz700, the reproduction is neutral and realistic. I enjoyed soprano arias the best with these IEMs. Joan Sutherland, Maria Callas, Renée Flaming, Anna Mofo, Anna Netrebko come through like crystal. Cecilia Bartoli’s machine gun staccato and coloratura passages are reproduced very clearly - every beats.
