My respect for Vishwas Sir has grown many times after reading this book!
I believe it's incredibly important that especially our youth read journey of police officers who are in high position, in active service right now so that they corelate the story with their current actions.- Journey from small towns/villages is so beautifully narrated, it's important to remember our roots, also it inspires people that their dreams can come true too!- Harsh words of teachers like - "you will also grow up to be a goon" can be scarring but are overcome with another teacher's kindness. We never forget either through our lifetime. I wish more teachers understood this.- "Walking around until legs ached, looking up at buildings until neck hurt" - very simple, endearing portrait of small town dreams ๐- I personally relate to imaginary calls to Ganesha. I believe in that practice ๐- Company we keep makes a huge difference especially during impressionable college years. Not to be swayed, yet make memories along the way is what college is all about. Didn't know that actor Madhavan was Sir's classmate.- Several fun references especially when trying to approach girls and failing, makes it human and realistic. Meenakshi saying "majnu ban jate hai sab yahan" made me laugh out loud! 'Cold War like situation' with girls in school is a scene I could literally visualize ๐- The poem recited during UPSC interview didn't come from books- "Why were you born" is a deep question - response came from conviction.- Entering an active terrorist attack, almost blind, with zero information, within 7 minutes, without bullet proof vest, is incredible courage under fire! Watching team members fall to death all around must take another level of grit at that moment to stand strong. That's not an impulsive action, it's a build up of all the tough situations one has bravely faced through life. Lots of grit, stubbornness, quick thinking, willingness to put service before self.My respect for Vishwas Sir has grown many more times after reading this book.Thank you for what you do. Jai Hind! ๐ฎ๐ณ

A must read- a very warm and beautiful narrative of an inspiring journey.
Some words in novels play the part of making the story seem like a faraway occurrence, something you can only see from a distance. Then there are books like โHead held highโ where the narrative and the words pull you in so effortlessly, you feel like a character in the story unfolding before you.Head Held High is the autobiographical novel of a decorated IPS officer, Vishwas Nangare Patil and has been translated from the Marathi version of the same book. The story moves through the authorโs childhood, takes you into his young adulthood and bares it all as the young officer shapes himself into someone who would eventually be able to save hundreds of innocent people during the terrorist attack in Mumbai on 26/11.The words and the dialect throughout the book are non-pretentious and make you feel almost cozy and comfortable as if you were sitting down for a tete-a-tete over a cup of coffee with the author himself. At first, I felt that the book should be read cover to cover, in the order of the chapters presented, but I found myself going back and forth multiple times, as if travelling in a time machine, trying to understand what made an officer of this calibre who he really is today. There are notable moments throughout the narration, some moments too where the author is painfully honest about his feelings and that honesty is truly endearing. If you think that only youth who are aspiring to undertake a similar career should read this book, think again. I believe such a book can touch people of all ages and backgrounds at a deep emotional level. A level where we are all humans finally, and a connection forged at this primal level, through the masterful use of words, is truly a priceless one.

Absolutele treat and one of the Neverending source of inspiration
Head Held High is a book not based on the life of a single Vishwas Nangre Patil it resembles the life of every youngster who dreams of doing something big and great for the nation and thinks to give something back to the society. Loaded with experiences which changes a village boy to a fearless courageous fighter who secures the country at every warfront.Nothing but only respect and love for Vishwas Sir.

HIGHLY MOTIVATIONAL
It makes one ponder that if a person from not so fortunate background can accomplish so much, then why people who have much more things at their disposal cannot. The relatively simple answer that can be gleaned from the efforts and rewards of Shri Vishwas Patil is that it is not haves or have-nots, but rather it is the vision and dedication towards the accomplishment of vision which counts.Sky is the height or rather is not only the height for those who have vision like Neil Armstrong. Sky can seen from visual eyes, dave to have a vision beyound.Highly motivated by your book Vishwas Patil Sir.

One of the most inspiring book
When I purchased the book, I did with an intention of reading the action packed stories of a Decorated IPS officer. As I started reading pages after pages, i just could not flip any pages without reading every single word on it. The poem "La Mancha" will remain etched in my mind forever. I would encouraged all students to read the book. Hats off to the author
