Perfect for Chinese calligraphy
The ink is jet black, which is exactly what you want when writing Chinese calligraphy. You can also mix a few drops of water to get the ink to "flow", and it looks just as good. I've tried writing different types of paper (White printer paper and rice paper) and noticed that the ink generally doesn't seep to the backside which is very convenient.

Ink seep out
The bottom of the bottle cracked, I can’t return it. Because the ink will seep out.

Bold color, easy to pour, cleaning ease depends on surface
This ink is not watery, which is good, and it is very reliable. Great consistency, odorless, easy to store. Would highly recommend to others!

Nice ink for calligraphy
Happy to get this ink from Amazon with reasonable price. Nice ink, same as I used several years ago. Hope there are more choices (colors, brand..) in this store.

Great ink
I've been using this ink for my Chinese calligraphy class. I think it's good quality, but I've never used any other kind of ink, so I wouldn't really know. I think it's all about getting the right amount of ink in your brush so that it's not too runny on your paper. It's pretty easy to get the hang of, even for a beginner.

Excellent quality
This is the best Chinese brush painting ink on the market. On dilution, it give a full range of tones from very dark to very light. Good for calligraphy and painting.

Good for Chinese calligraphy
Both brush pen and red star ink are good for Chinese calligraphy, especially the ink runs smoothly though the price is a bit expensive.

Works great on wood
I was used to using Yasutomo sumi ink whenever I wanted to add a deep black tone onto my wood pieces but, unfortunately, I can't access i t as easily since I moved to Europe. I've tried at least 5 different brands of sumi inks to try to achieve the same effect and this one is the closest one to Yasutomo that I could find.It even smells the same (a kind of earthy smell) and it washes away really easily from your hands, unlike other brands that say they are water based but then you end up spending days trying to get it off your hands.Would recommend it for this purpose (never tried it on paper).
