They work
These were developed by the Harvard School of Public Health to help control the deer tick population in endemic areas. It will take about 1-2 years to reap the benefits but they do work. For where I live I put out my first set of tubes in April - May, the second set in June - July. This coincides with their breeding cycles. It targets the ticks by using mice, they are the secondary host & reservoir for Lyme disease causing bacteria. Mice like nice fluffy material to make nice cozy nests. The chemical transfers from the treated material in the tube to the mouse. If a tick attaches to the mouse it will die, but the mouse is fine. A passive approach to help reduce Lyme disease which is absolutely no picnic! I do highly recommend this product. If you’ve ever had Lyme (I have) it can be extremely debilitating. I never ever want to get Lyme again and these will help I’m all in.

I’ve used these for years. Excellent results.
We are in Vermont and live on a third acre that backs up to the woods. These work GREAT! Been using and recommending them for a about four years now. Friends who live in super wooded areas do, too. We swear by them. Don’t hesitate. Really. Set them out where mice etc will use them as nesting material. I do that and then just toss them anywhere after I’m done doing that. Brush piles and such first for sure. You will be impressed!

Major reduction in ticks, hopefully due to these tubes?
Our yard was overrun with ticks. As in, my kids were forbidden to walk on the grass. A short walk from one end of the yard to the other and you'd have no less than 7 or 8 ticks. I refuse to choose between living with toxic chemicals living in my lawn or the ticks, but I was getting pretty desperate. Thankfully I found these tubes which (I think) are working. We have just over an acre in a rural setting with woods lining one side of our property. At the end of the summer I purchased the 24 pack and placed them throughout our property, along the woods, mostly areas that looked like a critter would hang out. This spring I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT reduction in ticks, as in we've only had two ticks so far, and I've actually been allowing my kids to play in the grass. I honestly didn't think they would work, especially since not all of the cotton was taken from all of the tubes, but these are the only difference between this year and last year. I just purchased another box of 24 and set them out today. I say it's worth a try!!

No tick issues at all!
We live in a neighborhood with a lot of mature trees. In previous years we’ve always had a service take care of treating our yard, but since our neighbors don’t, we’ve found it to be an expense that didn’t pay off very well. So this year we tried these tick tubes and have been very happy with the results. I put the second round of them out a couple weeks ago and both of our dogs (and us!) have remained tick-free all summer.Thank you for a great, easy-to-use product. I’ll be purchasing again next season.

Not sure the effectiveness of this alone, however, this combined with other methods it helped. Does nothing for the turkey tick thom

Hard to tell.
Well, our small dog goes out and runs around our acre and used to come back with ticks. Now she comes back without ticks. We put all of them out. Apparently they worked.

Really works
I've been using these for 4 years now. The first year I moved here, my babysitter wouldn't take my kids out in the yard to play because she said she could literally see ticks jumping. Every time I would go out to garden I would come inside with at least one tick on me. After I put these around my yard, we had literally zero ticks on us. Every spring when I go out early to get the garden ready, I might end up with a tick or two, but as soon as I put these out, I know the kids can go out and play. Definitely try these out if you have ticks or are worried about them. They're literally so easy to use, just take them out of the box and place them in your yard - each tube is about the size of a toilet paper roll. And that's it.

Time will tell
It's going to be hard to judge the overall affecteness of this product as it may take time to see if this works. I have seen ticks in my yard before and I am using this in conjunction with periodic yard spray. I placed these around my yard in areas where mice would be found , with the assumption the mice will take the treated cotton in the tube and use it to make a nest. The treated cotton will then transfer to the mice and then kill ticks on them. I'm not 100% sold this will be effective for protecting my yard and family as I imagine ticks that are already on mice wouldn't necessarily fall off anyway if there feeding on the mice. Either way this was very simple to apply, just lay the tubes in certain areas in your yard and that's it. I look at this as another layer of protection and not a one stop solution.
